Celebrities pull out all the stops for Hollywood's night of nights, so you can always expect to see some spectacular looks on the red carpet. This year's Oscars was no exception, and we've compared some of the best looks to see which celebrity styled their hair better. Take a look and let us know if you agree!
The Updo
For her updo, Best Supporting Actress nominee Julia Roberts went for a soft and loose style that framed her face beautifully. The deep side part helped her look to flatter her face, and her golden blonde hair color finished it off perfectly.
For her updo, Amy Adams opted for a sleek look around her face, but added plenty of detail through the back and sides with her moulded curls.
Who styled it better?
Amy Adams
This is a tough one. Julia's hairstyle looks great from the front, but Amy's updo has a classic finish worthy of a glam awards night. This coupled with the lovely detailed shape through the back puts her upstyle just above Julia's in our opinion.
Glamorous Waves
Sandra Bullock's film Gravity picked up a number of awards, and her look was also a winner. The soft waves, the side styling and the dark hair color all combined for a stunning finish. We especially love the lighter brunette highlights weaved throughout.
For her version of a wavy 'do, Viola Davis styled some finger waves into her short locks and created a charming, retro finish that always works so well on the red carpet.
Who styled it better?
Sandra Bullock
Although Viola Davis' waves are right on trend, we just can't go past the classic style of Sandra's long, side-swept waves.
Volumized Short 'Do
Jennifer Lawrence may have missed out on an Oscar, but her hairdo was right on point. This is the perfect example of dressing up short hair for a soft yet elegant finish. The volume through the top isn't too full, her sides are styled neatly back and her hair doesn't look like it's been overloaded with hair styling products.
Portia De Rossi's short hairdo is very similar to Jennifer's and she also has great volume through the top. However, her lengths are slightly longer through the ends and they've been styled to flick out around the nape of her neck.
Who styled it better?
Jennifer Lawrence
While both finishes are soft and voluptuous, the shorter, tapered finish at the bottom of Jennifer's style provides a much nicer finish and takes home the award for us.
