Hi! I'm planning to cut my hair short but I need to know if my face is indeed an oval shape. Can you please confirm by looking at my picture?

Hi, thanks for your question. I've checked your photo as requested and can confirm that your face shape is oval. Enjoy your new haircut! Kind regards, Serah Schuster - THS Hair Consultant.

Hairstyles

Hi Hairstyler,
I wear glasses all the time, and I have just purchased a new pair of glasses. Now I'm ready for a new hair cut. But my hairdresser has recently retired. I have medium length brown (with some gray) wavy thin hair, with gold and red highlights. I have a small oval face, and I'm 5'7" tall. The waves come out when my hair is short. I want a feminine look that is easy to manage and requires minimal upkeep. I wash my hair once a week or so, but rinse it well and condition every day to keep down the frizz. I'm looking for a good style to show a new hair dresser. Do you have a suggestion?

Julianah
p.s. I don't have a picture of myself wearing my new glasses yet, but I'll work on making one so you can see.

Hi Julianah, I recommend giving our Find My Perfect Hairstyle consultation a go. It will ask you questions based on your own personal attributes, such as your hair type, what kind of style you want, and if you wear glasses, to help work out what is the right style for you. Kind regards, Serah Schuster - THS Hair Consultant.

Hair Color

I have black hair that has been dyed over and over for years. What is the process for being able to achieve a coppery red color? How long would this take and would it damage my hair a lot? Also, if I can achieve this color, how would I maintain regrowth of greys? In the last few years the regrowth that is colored sparkles luminously and stands out. H.

Hi, as a hairstylist it is hard for me to correctly assess a problem without being able to view the texture, tone, elasticity and condition of a persons hair and other factors up close, so I would suggest seeing a hair stylist in person as they will be able to personally advise you on the condition of your hair, how best to achieve the color that you want and how to effectively cover your greys. Thank you. Kind regards, Serah Schuster - THS Hair Consultant.

Hairstyles

Hi,
could you please suggest me some hairstyles based on my photo? Tried the virtual hairstyler, however for some reason just can't find any appropriate ones or they just don't seem to fit on my face. The only prerequisite - it should be formal. Also, could you please specify what are my face characteristics (like face shape, etc.). I am not entirely sure on this, being honest.
Thanks for your help in advance, G.

What is the best haircut for glasses? Hi, I'm Italian woman, so please apologize me for all grammar mistakes. I'm 45 years old, I have a diamond face and I wear glasses. The frame is little and neutral. What haircut is the best for me? I have thin blonde hair and my hair are naturally very straight. My hair are like "spaghetti". I would like to have a haircut easy but nice. Thank you so much!

Hi, I am from a small town and the hairstylists I have worked with here don't really like their job and it shows, therefore I would like a professional's opinion. If you can access my fav's could you give me some advice on which hairstyle I should go with? Right now I have very long hair, past the middle of my back. My hair is VERY thick and I have it colored dark brown but I am more comfortable as, and have always been a blond. My friend told me I should go the darker route (Kim Kardashian style) and told me I shouldn't cut my hair cause it's "so pretty". But my parents have been telling me to chop it for a long time. I will admit I am scared to chop it, when I have a good hair day I will admit it's my best feature (I am not a confident person since I gained weight from having kids). I used to be skinny and hope to be again soon! I am on my way as I have lost a lot of weight and intend to lose more. I need to lose about 35 more pounds to be where I was before I became pregnant. I want my confidence back, but I am very ready for a new look, not to mention I hardly ever want to do my hair with it this long as it gets very tangled and they are hard to get out. So I am looking to cut it, just need some good advice on how short to go and maybe what color. I would LOVE to go SHORT and make things so much easier but not sure how good I look in a short cut like a pixie or a shorter bob. I think my nose is big even though I have been told it's not. I have been told my eyes are my best feature and I think my face is oval. Let me know what you think and thanks much for your time! :)

Hi, thanks for your question. I have viewed your favorites and think if you want to go shorter, do it gradually. You can keep the long length you have but add layers all through the sides and back to give it shape. If you think that length needs to go a bit higher, than you can do so slowly. Your face shape suits most hairstyles so also try bangs that you can wear to soften the face. This way, you won't be cutting all your locks off in the one go. Also with color, after viewing the favorites you have saved, brown tones seem to work with your skin more. If you want to try something different without going back to your previous blonde, try adding in subtle highlights or 2 different tones of highlights to give your over-all style contrast. I hope this advice helps! Kind regards, Serah Schuster - THS Hair Consultant.

Hello, I was wondering which one of the styles in my favorites is the best for me . There are a lot of styles that I tried on and I like but U want to get the BEST haircut lol please help!!!!!

Hi, hairstyles 8 & 9 in the favorites (Ciara and Noureen DeWulf) are best suited for you. Because of your narrow jaw-line, hairstyles with the layers cut around the chin area will help complement your face and balance out the shape. Also, both hair colors will be easier to maintain and roots will be less noticeable, therefore less color work every few weeks, and less chemical damage to your hair. This will allow your hairstyle to look and feel healthier for longer. I hope I've helped! Kind regards, Serah Schuster - THS Hair Consultant.

I have uploaded my picture which is not very good. I need hair help. I have went to 4 hairstylists and no one will cut my hair short. I have thick, thick, thick hair. It is very smooth and will not hold any curl. I realize I have a short forehead and a round face. I always pull my hair back in a ponytail or behind my ears. I cannot stand it in my face. This is why I want it short. It will be out of the way and hopefully easier to style when I need to or at least will have style and I don't have to spend forever on it. I have looked at many hairstyles and can't find one that has all my hair types. Do you have any thoughts or ideas? I am lost and can't find any answers. Thank you. Beth.

Hi Beth, The easiest way to find a style at TheHairStyler.com is to use our "Find My Perfect Style" hair consultation and "Hairstyle Search" feature so that you can view as many of our hairstyles as possible in a quick and easy manner. The hairstyle search can be found at this link http://www.thehairstyler.com/hairstyles/search. The consultation can be found at this link http://www.thehairstyler.com/hair-consultation. They will both allow you to narrow down the type of style you are after (length, texture etc) and match it to your personal attributes. Once you have used these features, please save any hairstyles that you like to your favorites and then let us know and one of our hair consultants can then offer you advice on which of those saved styles will suit you. To receive professional help after doing the consultation and saving your favorites, please send an email to the following address - info@thehairstyler.com Thank you. I have an oval face, but I have also the aging chin and neck which I am trying NOT to accentuate. I would love to grow older gracefully. Probably I need to send a side picture for this question. I KNOW the best way for me to solve part of this issue is to loose weight, but at 60 I am not sure that will solve all of my problem. Is there a style that will "probably not camouflage my neck issue, but at least NOT accentuate it.

Hi! I am currently in a debate with myself when it comes to cutting my long, wavy, thick hair into layers. My main concern is asking the stylist to cut my hair in a particular style. The style that I am gravitating to is this: http://www.thehairstyler.com/hairstyles/formal/long/wavy/paula-abdul I don't have a side or back picture of this style, and I would like to know in general, would this be a problem for my stylist? Thank you! P.S: Does hair cut better when it is wet or dry. Double thank you!

Hi, that cut shouldn't be a problem as the long layers are cut evenly all through the back and the sides. But remember, cutting long layers into your locks does not mean it will sit as pictured. That particular hairstyle requires styling time and products to look the way it does. In regards to your other question, hair should always be cut wet when using scissors. Only clipper cuts can be cut on dry hair. I hope I've helped! Kind regards, Serah Schuster - THS Hair Consultant.

Currently, my hair length is a couple inches past my shoulders, I have thick brown hair, naturally a bit wavy. I am looking to cut my hair very short, hoping something like the hairstyle Ginnifer Goodwin has right now. I have a round face similar to hers, I am also half-Filipino with a tan/olive complexion. What are your thoughts? Thank you.

Hi, I would suggest that you try the Ginnifer Goodwin hairstyles (http://www.thehairstyler.com/celebrity-hairstyles/ginnifer-goodwin) that we have available on in the virtual hairstyler and see if you like the way they look on your photo. It will at least give you an idea of how you may look with the style. Ginnifer's short styles are suitable for round faces, and naturally straight hair. If your hair does have a bit of a wave to it then you may need to factor in some styling time when considering any of her looks. Good luck! Kind regards, Serah Schuster - THS Hair Consultant.

Hairstyles

I would like my hair curlier all over, but my stylist doesn't seem to have heard of root perms or stacked perms. Don't you approve of perms? Do you know of special perms like this?

Hi, a root perm will only add volume to your hair so that your hair has more body and will only last as long as it takes for your root area to grow longer. If you want curly hair all over then you will need a traditional perm. Any type of perm will cause damage to your hair because of the chemicals involved, but if you are willing to accept this and to look after your hair with regular treatments then there's no reason why you can't enjoy a perm. If you feel that your hairdresser cannot give you the perm you wish then the best option is to find one that will. Kind regards, Serah Schuster - THS Hair Consultant.

Can you recommend a shorter hair style with bangs that looks somewhat feminine but is not too difficult to style? I do have some length right now, so if you can recommend a longer style with low maintenance I would welcome that as well.

Hi, if you're looking for a certain type of hairstyle to try then I recommend giving our Find My Perfect Hairstyle consultation a go. It can be found at this link: http://www.thehairstyler.com/hair-consultation and will ask you questions based on your own personal attributes to help work out what is the right style for you.
