Description

Jessie J is known for her powerful voice, her love of cat suits and of course her signature dark locks. Up until recently, Jessie was always spotted with a severe pageboy cut that suits her edgy style and exotic looks. Now, she has modified that look by growing her hair long and adding blonde tips. This is an eye-catching look that fashion-forward girls will love to flaunt. This glossy do is blow-waved slick and smooth showing off the ombre color making it a definite head-turner at any day or night occasion. The heavy bangs are blow-waved down to frame the face which is great to balance out a long face. Product is needed for gloss and hold. Here's how to get it:

1. This fading hair color technique looks best on super straight hair, so keep in mind if you have wavy or curly hair, you'll have to straighten it everyday.

2. Next, ask your stylist to give you a rich chocolate brown hair color for the top portion. Do not even attempt to do this at home, or let your friends do it- no matter how skilled they claim to be! This hair coloring technique can easily go wrong, so leave it to the professionals.

3. For the blonde color on the bottom, Jessie has chosen a golden blonde that matches the rich brown tones on top. Matching the tone is essential for a smooth transition- again, something that a professional colorist will know how to do.

For extra Jessie J style, copy her hairdo and rock a bold, blunt fringe.

Styling Steps

1. Apply Moisturizer

Moisturizer

Apply a small amount of hair moisturizer to the palm of your hand and distribute it evenly through the mid-lengths and the ends. Moisturizer will help your hair to maintain good condition and protect your strands from heat as you style.

2. Use a Medium Radial Brush

Brushmedium

A medium radial brush is used on medium to long hair types to smooth out wavy or curly hair textures or to add body to straight hair. When selecting a radial brush, always use one with a pure bristle as this will not tear or damage the hair.

3. Blow-dry Straight Back

Backstraight

Using your brush, blow-dry in small sections starting from the nape/back. Tilting your head forward, place the brush an inch below the roots to hold them taut and aim the dryer above the brush for a few seconds before continuing to the ends.

4. Blow-dry Straight on the Sides

Sidesstraight

Using your brush, blow-dry in small sections starting from the sides. Tilting your head forward, place the brush an inch below the roots to hold them taut and aim the dryer above the brush for a few seconds before continuing to the ends. Repeat this step on a new section directly above the dry one.

5. Blow-dry Bangs Forward

Bangsforwardbdry

When blow-drying your bangs forward, clip your hair back leaving only your bangs out. Position your bangs evenly in your brush, taking the hair in a forward direction. Blow-dry from roots to ends, keeping the tension consistent, and evenly distribute heat over the whole section of hair that you are working on. Repeat until the hair is dry. This will stop any frizz that may occur.

6. Apply Smoothing Shine

Smoothingshinefinishing

Apply a very small amount of smoothing shine to the palms of your hands and then run it through the mid-lengths and ends of your hair. Be careful not to add any to the roots or a large amount to any section of the hair as smoothing shine can be very heavy on the hair, weighing it down and making it appear oily.

7. Apply Hairspray

Hairsprayfinishing

To finish, apply a minimal amount of hairspray from an arms length distance to the top, sides and back. Take care not to use too much or you will end up with a white, flaky residue which looks like dandruff.
