Description

Here is a classic layered 'do that brings all of the focus to the face and eye area. This 'do is ideal for straight, thick hair. This is a simple style that doesn't have too many steps so it'll be easy and quick to do at home with the right tools and products.

Felicity Jones looks lovely here in a layered shag-style 'do that makes the most of her hair's natural thickness and texture. Having an oval face shape and large eyes, Felicity is well-suited to this medium length hairstyle that falls just past the shoulders. Her thick bangs create the perfect frame for her eyes, thanks to the soft layering and feathered edges throughout. The blunt ends gives her hair a thick, healthy look with some swing throughout the ends while the arched fringe gives her a sexy peek-a-boo effect.

Felicity has a fair, cool complexion and green eyes. This makes her well-suited to cool brunette and blonde tones of hair the best. Here, she is flaunting an iced mocha shade that works well with her skin tone and eye color. No highlights are needed here as this color looks rich and vibrant on its own.

Felicity Rose Hadley Jones is a British actress. She started her professional acting career as a child, appearing at age 12 in The Treasure Seekers.

Styling Steps

1. Part the Middle

Placeholder articles

Using the corner of your comb and standing in front of a mirror find the middle of your nose and then drag the comb straight up slowly until you reach your hairline and then continue back in a straight manner to achieve an even middle part. A middle part is a great way to make small, round face shapes appear longer and thinner.

2. Use a Medium Radial Brush

Placeholder articles

A medium radial brush is used on medium to long hair types to smooth out wavy or curly hair textures or to add body to straight hair. When selecting a radial brush, always use one with a pure bristle as this will not tear or damage the hair.

3. Blow-dry Bangs Forward

Placeholder articles

When blow-drying your bangs forward, clip your hair back leaving only your bangs out. Position your bangs evenly in your brush, taking the hair in a forward direction. Blow-dry from roots to ends, keeping the tension consistent, and evenly distribute heat over the whole section of hair that you are working on. Repeat until the hair is dry. This will stop any frizz that may occur.

4. Blow-dry the Crown

Placeholder articles

To blow-dry the crown/top sections, take a section of hair no bigger than the diameter of the brush and blow-dry the hair placing the brush under the section of hair. With your blow-dryer in front of the brush, follow the brush in an upwards direction at the roots and an outwards position at the ends for volume and softness. Continue until the section is dry.

5. Blow-dry Straight Back

Placeholder articles

Using your brush, blow-dry in small sections starting from the nape/back. Tilting your head forward, place the brush an inch below the roots to hold them taut and aim the dryer above the brush for a few seconds before continuing to the ends.

6. Style Bangs Forward Using Moulding Cream

Placeholder articles

Apply a small amount of moulding cream to your fingertips and then using your fingers, rake through your bangs to the ends for hold and texture.

7. Style Sides Out Using Moulding Cream

Placeholder articles

To get your sides to sit out, apply a small amount of moulding cream to your fingertips and then working mainly on the ends, pinch them while dragging the hair in an out and upwards motion. The more moulding cream and the more pinching that you apply, the more textured and pasty the result.
