Added: 13 Jan 2011
Hairstyle Popularity Rating: ★★★★★

Description

The back of this hairstyle is tapered into the neck blending into the short side layers which keep the edges soft and wispy. The top is jagged cut to allow height and texture for a brilliant finish. This look is great for those with naturally straight fine hair and will need regular trims to maintain shape.

Styling Steps

1. Use a Blow-dryer and Fingers to Dry Your Hair Off

Placeholder articles

Using your blow-dryer, dry your hair using your fingers, separating the hair and allowing it to dry at the roots first then the mid lengths and then the ends. Making sure the roots are dry first will ensure that your hairstyle does not fall flat.

2. Apply Smoothing Shine

Placeholder articles

Apply a very small amount of smoothing shine to the palms of your hands and then run it through the mid-lengths and ends of your hair. Be careful not to add any to the roots or a large amount to any section of the hair as smoothing shine can be very heavy on the hair, weighing it down and making it appear oily.

3. Apply Hairspray

Placeholder articles

To finish, apply a minimal amount of hairspray from an arms length distance to the top, sides and back. Take care not to use too much or you will end up with a white, flaky residue which looks like dandruff.
