Sandra Taylor Medium Wavy Golden Blonde Bob Haircut with Side Swept Bangs - Visual Story

Description

This blonde mane is blow-waved to add body to the roots and subtle movement through the mid-lengths to ends. The long bangs are styled to the side to soften the face and completes the over-all look magnificently. Product is needed to twist out the ends for some added texture.

Sandra Taylor looks lovely here in a curled shoulder length bob with layers throughout, styled with a windblown look. The high volume styling of this ‘do is a great way to jazz up a bob and add extra volume. Sandra has an oval face shape so she can pull off a variety of looks and cuts. Here, she goes for a layered bob that masks her high forehead well and frames her eyes, thanks to the long side-swept fringe. This ‘do gives her locks an overall trendy, fun look that can be worn for both day and night.

Sandra has a tanned complexion and brown eyes making her best suited to golden brown and blonde tones of hair. Here she goes for a beige blonde shade that completes her sun-kissed look. Sandra has kept her base color at the crown which gives her hair a cool surfer style finish, with highlighted blonde streaks throughout.

Styling Steps

1. Apply Gel Spray

step 1

Evenly mist gel spray around the top and sides to create a soft hold style. Gel spray will hold well and will not look wet or weigh the hair down.

2. Part to the Left

step 2

Using the corner of your comb and standing in front of a mirror find the middle of your left eye and then drag the comb straight up slowly until you reach your hairline and then continue back in a straight manner to achieve an even left part. A side part is great for longer face shapes because it creates the illusion of width.

3. Use a Large Radial Brush

step 3

A large radial brush is usually used on long straight hair types or to smooth out wavy or curly hair textures. When selecting a radial brush, always use one with a pure bristle as this will not tear or damage the hair.

4. Blow-dry the Back Under

step 4

To blow-dry under, start at the nape/back and place your brush under the section of hair close to the nape. With the dryer held up over the hair, pull the brush from the roots and continue to the mid length's, keeping the blow-dryer following over the top. Once you reach the ends, curve them under. Repeat this step until the section is completely dry.

5. Blow-dry the Sides Under

step 5

To blow-dry the sides, take out a small section of hair from the front and clip the rest of the hair away. Next, place the brush under the section and then pull the brush and hair forward around your face (this curving motion creates body). Place the hair-dryer on top of the brush until you reach the ends and then turn the ends under. Repeat until dry.

6. Blow-dry the Crown

step 6

To blow-dry the crown/top sections, take a section of hair no bigger than the diameter of the brush and blow-dry the hair placing the brush under the section of hair. With your blow-dryer in front of the brush, follow the brush in an upwards direction at the roots and an outwards position at the ends for volume and softness. Continue until the section is dry.

7. Blow-dry Bangs Forward to the Left

step 7

To blow-dry your bangs to the side, clip the back and side sections up, leaving just your bangs out. Place your brush beneath your bangs, holding your hair to the side and remembering to hold the tension between your hair and brush. With your blow-dryer on a low setting, apply heat by starting at the roots and make sure to stretch your hair out to the ends. Repeat until your hair is dry.

8. Curl Mid-lengths and Ends with a Curling Iron

step 8

Take a small section of hair and place the ends at the base of your curling iron barrel and then wrap the hair up around the barrel until you reach your mid-lengths. Hold the hair for 5 to 10 seconds and then release the hair by unwinding the strands backwards.

9. Tease Hair

step 9

Pick up a small selection of hair from your mid section no bigger than your tail comb. Place your comb at the roots and then comb up and down until the hair is standing up by itself. Continue to the crown and finish at the sides. Repeat this step if you require more volume.

10. Style Sides Out Using Wax

step 10

To get your sides to sit out, apply a small amount of wax to your fingertips and then working mainly on the ends, pinch them while dragging the hair in an out and upwards motion. Be careful not to overdo that wax or your result will be a flat and limp style.

11. Style Bangs to the Left Using Wax

step 11

Apply wax to your fingertips then drag through your bangs, sweeping the hair to the left as you go. Pinching the ends will create soft texture.

12. Apply Hairspray

step 12

To finish, apply a minimal amount of hairspray from an arms length distance to the top, sides and back. Take care not to use too much or you will end up with a white, flaky residue which looks like dandruff.
