Louisa Johnson Medium Wavy Light Ash Blonde Bob Haircut - Visual Story

Description

Louisa Johnson shows off her loose and casual waves in this platinum ash blonde hairstyle. This 'do will suit oval, triangle and diamond face shapes the best, and will work nicely with straight and wavy hair textures. Minimal styling is needed for this wash-and-go 'do, but regular trims are required to keep the ends looking blunt and healthy. Louisa will need to tone her hair regularly to keep her color looking ash or beige.

Louisa Johnson is an English singer-songwriter from Thurrock, Essex. She was the winner of the twelfth UK series of The X Factor in 2015. Aged 17 at the time of winning, Johnson became the programme's youngest winner.

Styling Steps

1. Apply Mousse

step 1

Apply styling mousse to damp hair, using your palm as a measuring guide, and evenly distribute it along the hair shaft. Styling mousse will add hold and can help achieve better results.

2. Part the Middle

step 2

Using the corner of your comb and standing in front of a mirror find the middle of your nose and then drag the comb straight up slowly until you reach your hairline and then continue back in a straight manner to achieve an even middle part. A middle part is a great way to make small, round face shapes appear longer and thinner.

3. Use a Blow-dryer and Fingers to Dry Hair Messy

step 3

Using your blow-dryer, flip your head upside down and dry your hair using your fingers until your hair is completely dry. Remember, the messier, the better.

4. Use a Medium Curling Iron

step 4

A medium curling iron is used to create medium sized curls.

5. Curl Mid-lengths and Ends with a Curling Iron

step 5

Take a small section of hair and place the ends at the base of your curling iron barrel and then wrap the hair up around the barrel until you reach your mid-lengths. Hold the hair for 5 to 10 seconds and then release the hair by unwinding the strands backwards.

6. Tease Hair

step 6

Pick up a small selection of hair from your mid section no bigger than your tail comb. Place your comb at the roots and then comb up and down until the hair is standing up by itself. Continue to the crown and finish at the sides. Repeat this step if you require more volume.

7. Style Sides Out Using Moulding Cream

step 7

To get your sides to sit out, apply a small amount of moulding cream to your fingertips and then working mainly on the ends, pinch them while dragging the hair in an out and upwards motion. The more moulding cream and the more pinching that you apply, the more textured and pasty the result.

8. Apply Hairspray

step 8

To finish, apply a minimal amount of hairspray from an arms length distance to the top, sides and back. Take care not to use too much or you will end up with a white, flaky residue which looks like dandruff.
