Description

Layered ends and soft waves encourage movement and body in this chic shoulder length bob. This classy vintage 'do is perfect to compliment an oval face and needs product to keep it in place and protect it from humidity.

Charlize Theron is flaunting a gorgeous wavy hairstyle here that has a fabulous finish to it. This hairstyle looks great on her oval face shape and is ideal for her high, rounded hairline and delicate facial features. This ‘do gives Charlize oodles of volume at the crown and throughout the lengths and ends. Ladies with a fine hair texture like hers will benefit from this hairstyle that makes the hair appear thicker thanks to the body-boosting curls and straight edge at the bottom. Charlize has gone with a side-swept grown out fringe that camouflages her high forehead and gives her 'do a sexy peek-a-boo effect.

Charlize’s color is another stand out feature of this ‘do. Her light golden blonde base has been highlighted with streaks of soft gold and light ash tones, giving her locks an ultra light and soft finish. This hair hue looks lovely with her fair, warm complexion and blue eyes, plus it compliments the "Old Hollywood" vibe of her hairstyle perfectly.

Charlize Theron is a South African and American actress and film producer. She has starred in several Hollywood films, such as The Devil's Advocate, Mighty Joe Young, The Cider House Rules, Monster, The Italian Job, Hancock, A Million Ways to Die in the West, and Mad Max: Fury Road.

Styling Steps

1. Apply Gel Spray to Roots

Placeholder articles

Hold the gel spray no closer than 3 inches from your hair and then evenly mist the gel spray into the roots to create a stronger hold style. Gel spray will hold well and will not look wet or weigh the hair down. Using your gel spray in this fashion will create added hold and a longer lasting style.

2. Part to the Left

Placeholder articles

Using the corner of your comb and standing in front of a mirror find the middle of your left eye and then drag the comb straight up slowly until you reach your hairline and then continue back in a straight manner to achieve an even left part. A side part is great for longer face shapes because it creates the illusion of width.

3. Use a Medium Radial Brush

Placeholder articles

A medium radial brush is used on medium to long hair types to smooth out wavy or curly hair textures or to add body to straight hair. When selecting a radial brush, always use one with a pure bristle as this will not tear or damage the hair.

4. Blow-dry Straight Back

Placeholder articles

Using your brush, blow-dry in small sections starting from the nape/back. Tilting your head forward, place the brush an inch below the roots to hold them taut and aim the dryer above the brush for a few seconds before continuing to the ends.

5. Blow-dry Straight on the Sides

Placeholder articles

Using your brush, blow-dry in small sections starting from the sides. Tilting your head forward, place the brush an inch below the roots to hold them taut and aim the dryer above the brush for a few seconds before continuing to the ends. Repeat this step on a new section directly above the dry one.

6. Blow-dry the Crown

Placeholder articles

To blow-dry the crown/top sections, take a section of hair no bigger than the diameter of the brush and blow-dry the hair placing the brush under the section of hair. With your blow-dryer in front of the brush, follow the brush in an upwards direction at the roots and an outwards position at the ends for volume and softness. Continue until the section is dry.

7. Blow-dry Bangs Forward to the Right

Placeholder articles

When blow-drying your bangs to the side, section your hair up and clip your hair back to leave only your bangs out. Remember to make sure that your bangs are damp to make blow-drying more effective. Next, take your brush and place it underneath the hair and then blow-dry starting from the roots, adding tension to the hair as you go. Slowly pull your section down to the ends and continue until dry.

8. Use a Triple Barrel Curling Iron to Curl the Back

Placeholder articles

Starting at the nape and working your way up, take a small to medium section of hair and clamp it between the barrels of your curling iron. Hold the hair for 5 to 10 seconds and then release.

9. Use a Triple Barrel Curling Iron to Curl the Side

Placeholder articles

Starting above your ear and working your way up to your part, take a small to medium section of hair and clamp it between the barrels of your curling iron. Hold the hair for 5 to 10 seconds and then release.

10. Tease Hair

Placeholder articles

Pick up a small selection of hair from your mid section no bigger than your tail comb. Place your comb at the roots and then comb up and down until the hair is standing up by itself. Continue to the crown and finish at the sides. Repeat this step if you require more volume.

11. Comb Hair

Placeholder articles

Comb your hair into the desired direction that you require for styling.

12. Apply Lacquer

Placeholder articles

Lacquer is great for strong hold. A small amount is all that is required to finish and should be applied from an arms length distance to the entire style.
