Malin Akerman is sharing an old-school-looking shag hairstyle that we love! The way in which her hair has been styled with the bangs create a square effect on her face. This helps to frame her face and soften the edges, which is what you want from a hairstyle. Malins' hair is messy and yet controlled at the same time. This is because she allows her natural hair texture to shine through this look but uses hairspray to keep some control on the curls. This style is ideal for those who have hair that is thinning out or for someone who wants to create the illusion that the hair is thicker than it is. You can make this illusion by lifting your roots once you are done styling. Her color is also stunning as it is light, bright, and natural looking. You cannot tell that she has added natural highlights to this look. If you want a fun and exciting style that is classic, this is your style!
When it comes to your makeup application, please keep it simple and allow your hairstyle to do all the talking.

Using the corner of your comb and standing in front of a mirror find the middle of your nose and then drag the comb straight up slowly until you reach your hairline and then continue back in a straight manner to achieve an even middle part. A middle part is a great way to make small, round face shapes appear longer and thinner.
When blow-drying your bangs forward, clip your hair back leaving only your bangs out. Position your bangs evenly in your brush, taking the hair in a forward direction. Blow-dry from roots to ends, keeping the tension consistent, and evenly distribute heat over the whole section of hair that you are working on. Repeat until the hair is dry. This will stop any frizz that may occur.
Take a small section of hair and place the ends at the base of your curling iron barrel and then wrap the hair up around the barrel until you reach your mid-lengths. Hold the hair for 5 to 10 seconds and then release the hair by unwinding the strands backwards.
Apply some gel to your fingertips and then rub it into your roots while lifting your strands for added body.
To finish, evenly mist gel spray around the top, sides and back to create a lasting style.
