Description

This chic hairstyle is suited to men who prefer a polished, professional look with some height on the top. The longer layers on top are swept back off the face while the sides are kept short for a sophisticated finish. Men with thick, straight or wavy hair will suit this 'do well. Regular trims are needed to keep this style in check.

Styling Steps

1. Apply Mousse

Mousse

Apply styling mousse to damp hair, using your palm as a measuring guide, and evenly distribute it along the hair shaft. Styling mousse will add hold and can help achieve better results.

2. Finger Dry the Back with Blow-dryer

Fingerdry

Use your blow-dryer and your fingers to dry the back of your hair by moving your hair around to allow the heat to pass through it.

3. Part to the Right

Partright

Using the corner of your comb and standing in front of a mirror find the middle of your right eye and then drag the comb straight up slowly until you reach your hairline and then continue back in a straight manner to achieve an even right part. A side part is great for longer face shapes because it creates the illusion of width.

4. Use a Small Radial Brush

Brushsmall

A small radial brush is used on shorter hair types to add more body or in longer hair types to create curl. When selecting a radial brush, always use one with a pure bristle as this will not tear or damage the hair.

5. Blow-dry the Top Section Back

Backtop

To blow-dry the top section back you will need to take your brush and firstly make sure that the section is no wider than the diameter of the brush. Next, place your brush on top of your head and under your section. Using your blow-dryer on a medium setting, blow-dry your hair from the roots, slowly lifting your hair up and working your way to the ends. Make sure to keep the blow-dryer in front of the brush at all times. Continue this step until the top section is completely dry.

6. Style Bangs Up and to the Left Using Gel

Bangsupleft

Apply a small amount of gel to your fingers, then starting at your roots, apply the gel as you drag your hair in an upwards, to the left, motion.

7. Style Sides Down Using Gel

Sidesdown

Using a small amount of gel, work it through the mid-lengths and ends in a downward motion. For added texture, pinch the ends as you go.

8. Style Hair Down at the Back Using Gel

Backdown

Apply some some gel to your fingertips and then pull through the ends of your hair in a downward motion to achieve a sculptured look.
