Description

This gorgeous wavy 'do is fun and easy to create. Naomi's hair has had jagged layers cut throughout to enhance the curl, and the side swept bangs have been added which blend beautifully with the rest of the hair. This is a great low maintenance option that will keep looking fresh and fun with regular trims.

Naomi Watts is known for her feminine features and strong bone structure, which is nicely highlighted by her soft wavy tresses here. Having an oval face shape, she has a wide, broad forehead to contend with as well as a more vertical shape to her face. Voluminous hairstyles that have lots of body and volume around the jaw and neck area are ideal for her as they balance out her face shape the best. This simple wavy bob does just that for Naomi, while the blunt ends give her fine hair a thicker appearance. She would look great in bangs as it would give her broad forehead some camouflage, however the center part is working well for her too.

Naomi has a cool porcelain skin tone, blue eyes and dark blonde natural hair. This coloring is best paired with light blonde locks, but it is also possible for ladies with this complexion and eye color to wear golden shades too. Here, Naomi goes for a cool beige base that has a natural looking finish. This color brightens up her complexion and gives her an all over warm glow, thanks to the golden highlights throughout.

Naomi Watts is an Australian actress. She starred in Mulholland Drive and The Ring. She's also a goodwill ambassador for the United Nations, and works on HIV/AIDS awareness programs.

Styling Steps

1. Apply Gel Spray to Roots

Placeholder articles

Hold the gel spray no closer than 3 inches from your hair and then evenly mist the gel spray into the roots to create a stronger hold style. Gel spray will hold well and will not look wet or weigh the hair down. Using your gel spray in this fashion will create added hold and a longer lasting style.

2. Part the Middle

Placeholder articles

Using the corner of your comb and standing in front of a mirror find the middle of your nose and then drag the comb straight up slowly until you reach your hairline and then continue back in a straight manner to achieve an even middle part. A middle part is a great way to make small, round face shapes appear longer and thinner.

3. Use a Medium Radial Brush

Placeholder articles

A medium radial brush is used on medium to long hair types to smooth out wavy or curly hair textures or to add body to straight hair. When selecting a radial brush, always use one with a pure bristle as this will not tear or damage the hair.

4. Use a Blow-dryer to Kick Out the Back

Placeholder articles

Starting at the nape/back of the hair, place your brush on top of the section and blow-dryer down starting from the roots and using tension as you go. Next, place the blow-dryer underneath the hair and continue to blow-dry the ends out. Make sure to follow the brush with the blow-dryer in an outwards direction. If you like fuller flicks, hold the ends out and roll them up into the brush and apply the heat for longer.

5. Use a Blow-dryer to Kick Out the Sides

Placeholder articles

To blow-dry the sides, take out your first sections from the front and clip the rest of the hair up. Place your brush on top of the section, and starting from the roots, blow-dry down using tension as you go. Next, place the blow-dryer underneath the hair and continue to blow-dry the ends out. Continue this step until the hair is dry.

6. Blow-dry the Crown

Placeholder articles

To blow-dry the crown/top sections, take a section of hair no bigger than the diameter of the brush and blow-dry the hair placing the brush under the section of hair. With your blow-dryer in front of the brush, follow the brush in an upwards direction at the roots and an outwards position at the ends for volume and softness. Continue until the section is dry.

7. Blow-dry and Flick Left Side

Placeholder articles

Take a section of your hair from your ear to your temple that is the same diameter as the brush. Place your brush on top of the hair starting at the roots and pull the hair slowly in an outwards direction with your blow-dryer following in front. Repeat this step and then once the roots are dry, drag the brush to the mid-lengths and then slowly turn the brush in an inwards direction, flicking it through the ends.

8. Blow-dry and Flick Right Side

9. Tease Hair

Placeholder articles

Pick up a small selection of hair from your mid section no bigger than your tail comb. Place your comb at the roots and then comb up and down until the hair is standing up by itself. Continue to the crown and finish at the sides. Repeat this step if you require more volume.

10. Apply Hairspray

Placeholder articles

To finish, apply a minimal amount of hairspray from an arms length distance to the top, sides and back. Take care not to use too much or you will end up with a white, flaky residue which looks like dandruff.
