Description

Big and Fancy is the main idea for this look. Gorgeous waves are dressed all the sides and back of this blonde mane to give the over-all style plenty of volume and body making this formal style perfect to frame a long face. This hairstyle is easy to re-create with the right tools and needs product for shine and hold.

Elizabeth Banks looks gorgeous here in a voluminous curled ‘do that has a touch of vintage styling to it. This hairstyle looks great on her oval face shape and makes the most of her thick locks. Elizabeth has opted for a deep side part here, which creates a sexy cascading fringe with a peek-a-boo effect. The rest of her hair has been waved and curled to create maximum body and bounce for a sexy, glamorous finish. If you have a medium length bob like Elizabeth’s, this is one way to vamp up your look for a night out.

Elizabeth’s golden blonde hair color is ideal for her skin tone and eye color. She has a peaches and cream skin tone that has a lot of golden undertones to it, and her eyes are a warm blue (as opposed to an icy cool blue). This coloring is ideal for her light golden blonde hair color. Ladies with darker skin tones and eye colors can also pull this shade off, as long as they have a lot of warmth in their complexions.

Elizabeth Banks is an American actress, producer, and director.

Styling Steps

1. Apply Mousse

Mousse

Apply styling mousse to damp hair, using your palm as a measuring guide, and evenly distribute it along the hair shaft. Styling mousse will add hold and can help achieve better results.

2. Part to the Left

Partleft

Using the corner of your comb and standing in front of a mirror find the middle of your left eye and then drag the comb straight up slowly until you reach your hairline and then continue back in a straight manner to achieve an even left part. A side part is great for longer face shapes because it creates the illusion of width.

3. Use a Medium Radial Brush

Brushmedium

A medium radial brush is used on medium to long hair types to smooth out wavy or curly hair textures or to add body to straight hair. When selecting a radial brush, always use one with a pure bristle as this will not tear or damage the hair.

4. Blow-dry the Back Under

Backunder

To blow-dry under, start at the nape/back and place your brush under the section of hair close to the nape. With the dryer held up over the hair, pull the brush from the roots and continue to the mid length's, keeping the blow-dryer following over the top. Once you reach the ends, curve them under. Repeat this step until the section is completely dry.

5. Blow-dry Right Side Back

Sidebackshortright

Take a section of your hair from your ear to your temple that is the same diameter as the brush. Place your brush on top of the hair starting at the roots and pull the hair slowly in a backward direction with your blow-dryer following in front. Be sure the section is dry and then repeat the step on a new section of hair directly behind.

6. Blow-dry Left Side Back

Sidebackshortleft

Take a section of your hair from your ear to your temple that is the same diameter as the brush. Place your brush on top of the hair starting at the roots and pull the hair slowly in a backward direction with your blow-dryer following in front. Be sure the section is dry and then repeat the step on a new section of hair directly behind.

7. Piece the Ends Using Wax

Productsendswavy

Apply a small amount of wax to your fingertips and then lightly piece and pinch the ends of your hair.

8. Apply Hairspray

Hairsprayfinishing

To finish, apply a minimal amount of hairspray from an arms length distance to the top, sides and back. Take care not to use too much or you will end up with a white, flaky residue which looks like dandruff.
