Katherine McNamara Long Wavy Hairstyle - Visual Story

Description

Layers are sliced through the sides and front of these glossy ginger locks making it easy to blow-wave smoothing down the top while adding movement to the mid-lengths to ends. This stunning 'do is perfect to frame a round face for any occasion and needs product for shine and hold. Regular trims every 4-6 weeks will help prevent split ends.

Katherine McNamara is looking sexy with a long layered style. Her hair is parted off center with loose curls focused from the jawline down. This polished ‘do accentuates her hair's sheen and is perfect for a night out. Here she adds red lips and long lashes to create a sexy, glamorous look. This hairstyle works well with her face shape, which is an oval shape with a square jaw line. Katherine looks best in styles that add softness around the face, which is exactly what her long waves do.

Katherine is wearing an auburn hue with strawberry blonde highlights. Her fair complexion with pink undertones and hazel brown eyes look fabulous with this ginger color. Katherine is a great example of how well red hair harmonizes with fair skin tones. She could also wear pale auburn, light golden brown and golden blonde colors which would also compliment her light complexion and hazel eyes.

Katherine McNamara is an accomplished actress, singer, dancer, songwriter, and an avid student.

Styling Steps

1. Apply Mousse

step 1

Apply styling mousse to damp hair, using your palm as a measuring guide, and evenly distribute it along the hair shaft. Styling mousse will add hold and can help achieve better results.

2. Use a Large Radial Brush

step 2

A large radial brush is usually used on long straight hair types or to smooth out wavy or curly hair textures. When selecting a radial brush, always use one with a pure bristle as this will not tear or damage the hair.

3. Blow-dry the Back Under

step 3

To blow-dry under, start at the nape/back and place your brush under the section of hair close to the nape. With the dryer held up over the hair, pull the brush from the roots and continue to the mid length's, keeping the blow-dryer following over the top. Once you reach the ends, curve them under. Repeat this step until the section is completely dry.

4. Blow-dry Left Side Back

step 4

Take a section of your hair from your ear to your temple that is the same diameter as the brush. Place your brush on top of the hair starting at the roots and pull the hair slowly in a backward direction with your blow-dryer following in front. Be sure the section is dry and then repeat the step on a new section of hair directly behind.

5. Blow-dry Right Side Back

step 5

Take a section of your hair from your ear to your temple that is the same diameter as the brush. Place your brush on top of the hair starting at the roots and pull the hair slowly in a backward direction with your blow-dryer following in front. Be sure the section is dry and then repeat the step on a new section of hair directly behind.

6. Apply Smoothing Shine

step 6

Apply a very small amount of smoothing shine to the palms of your hands and then run it through the mid-lengths and ends of your hair. Be careful not to add any to the roots or a large amount to any section of the hair as smoothing shine can be very heavy on the hair, weighing it down and making it appear oily.

7. Apply Hairspray

step 7

To finish, apply a minimal amount of hairspray from an arms length distance to the top, sides and back. Take care not to use too much or you will end up with a white, flaky residue which looks like dandruff.
