Description

These gorgeous blonde locks are left out to fall over the shoulders showing off the lovely curls dressed through the ends for volume and bounce. This stunning 'do is great for any occasion and is easy to re-create with the right tools and product. Regular trims are needed every 4-6 weeks to prevent split ends.

Holly Branson is working her thick tresses to the maximum here with a voluminous curled ‘do. Holly has an oval face shape with a strong, angular jawline that benefits from longer hairstyles. This ‘do is ideal for her thick hair texture that has been smoothed out all over and curled at the ends. Holly's locks look healthy, shiny and full of body. The bangs have been grown out to create a gorgeous frame for Holly's face and the ends have been kept blunt to give her tresses a thick, healthy appearance.

Holly is a natural dark blonde and tends to stay in the medium to light blonde range. This particular shade is a light wheat blonde tone that works well with her tanned fair complexion and blue eyes. This look has been created with highlights for a natural, beachy looking finish.

Holly Branson is the daughter of Sir Richard Branson. She studied to be a doctor but is now working for the family firm.

Styling Steps

1. Apply Mousse

Placeholder articles

Apply styling mousse to damp hair, using your palm as a measuring guide, and evenly distribute it along the hair shaft. Styling mousse will add hold and can help achieve better results.

2. Comb Hair

Placeholder articles

Comb your hair into the desired direction that you require for styling.

3. Part to the Left

Placeholder articles

Using the corner of your comb and standing in front of a mirror find the middle of your left eye and then drag the comb straight up slowly until you reach your hairline and then continue back in a straight manner to achieve an even left part. A side part is great for longer face shapes because it creates the illusion of width.

4. Use a Large Radial Brush

Placeholder articles

A large radial brush is usually used on long straight hair types or to smooth out wavy or curly hair textures. When selecting a radial brush, always use one with a pure bristle as this will not tear or damage the hair.

5. Blow-dry the Back Under

Placeholder articles

To blow-dry under, start at the nape/back and place your brush under the section of hair close to the nape. With the dryer held up over the hair, pull the brush from the roots and continue to the mid length's, keeping the blow-dryer following over the top. Once you reach the ends, curve them under. Repeat this step until the section is completely dry.

6. Blow-dry the Sides Under

Placeholder articles

To blow-dry the sides, take out a small section of hair from the front and clip the rest of the hair away. Next, place the brush under the section and then pull the brush and hair forward around your face (this curving motion creates body). Place the hair-dryer on top of the brush until you reach the ends and then turn the ends under. Repeat until dry.

7. Blow-dry the Crown

Placeholder articles

To blow-dry the crown/top sections, take a section of hair no bigger than the diameter of the brush and blow-dry the hair placing the brush under the section of hair. With your blow-dryer in front of the brush, follow the brush in an upwards direction at the roots and an outwards position at the ends for volume and softness. Continue until the section is dry.

8. Use a Large Curling Iron

Placeholder articles

A large curling iron is used to create large soft curls and can be used to add body.

9. Curl Mid-lengths and Ends with a Curling Iron

Placeholder articles

Take a small section of hair and place the ends at the base of your curling iron barrel and then wrap the hair up around the barrel until you reach your mid-lengths. Hold the hair for 5 to 10 seconds and then release the hair by unwinding the strands backwards.

10. Apply Hairspray

Placeholder articles

To finish, apply a minimal amount of hairspray from an arms length distance to the top, sides and back. Take care not to use too much or you will end up with a white, flaky residue which looks like dandruff.
