Description

Ciara has an updo that speaks volumes! This hairdo will take you a while to style, but once you do, you are going to love it! This updo is ideal to be styled with thick or medium hair texture as these textures will make this style pop! You are going to want to start by curling your hair for the big bun. The bun is what is going to create the height in this look. Place your hair in a bun strategically with the help of a lot of bobby pins, and make sure you keep a few pieces of hair out of the bun to help frame your face as Ciara has done. Her bangs have been blow-dried, which is the ideal way to style these types of bangs as they fall flawlessly on your forehead area. When it comes to your color, it is nice to have a blonde like Ciara with your darker roots showing through, as it takes this hairstyle to a whole new level!

Cover up any imperfections so that your skin appears silky smooth. To create the impression of a perfectly oval face shape, contour and highlight the areas of your face and neck. You can add some color to the area around your eyes or create a striking, smoky eye when it comes to your eyes. This will assist in bringing out the color of your eyes. Making use of fake lashes will assist your eyes to stand out more. Finish by applying your all-time favorite shade of lipstick.

Styling Steps

1. Apply Moisturizer

step 1

Apply a small amount of hair moisturizer to the palm of your hand and distribute it evenly through the mid-lengths and the ends. Moisturizer will help your hair to maintain good condition and protect your strands from heat as you style.

2. Section Hair

step 2

It is always a good idea to work in sections. This will help to make your hair styling quicker, easier to follow and more orderly. Comb your hair out and place your hair up into four equal sections, two in front and two in back, starting from ear to ear.

3. Blow-dry Bangs Forward

step 3

When blow-drying your bangs forward, clip your hair back leaving only your bangs out. Position your bangs evenly in your brush, taking the hair in a forward direction. Blow-dry from roots to ends, keeping the tension consistent, and evenly distribute heat over the whole section of hair that you are working on. Repeat until the hair is dry. This will stop any frizz that may occur.

4. Curl Mid-lengths and Ends with a Curling Iron

step 4

Take a small section of hair and place the ends at the base of your curling iron barrel and then wrap the hair up around the barrel until you reach your mid-lengths. Hold the hair for 5 to 10 seconds and then release the hair by unwinding the strands backwards.

5. Apply Hairspray

step 5

To finish, apply a minimal amount of hairspray from an arms length distance to the top, sides and back. Take care not to use too much or you will end up with a white, flaky residue which looks like dandruff.
