Description

These hot red locks are dressed in loose waves and left out to fall on the shoulders and to complement the jaw-line. The body and volume through the sides makes this cool and casual style perfect to complement a long face. This hairstyle is easy to manage with regular trims every 4-6 weeks and needs product for shine and hold.

Ashley Tisdale looks radiant in a shoulder length wavy bob here that is perfect for both day and night. Ashley has an oval face shape and high forehead, which both go great with this ‘do. The waves in her bob add volume all over and gives her tresses some texture. The side part and grown out fringe is ideal for her straight hairline and suits her grown out fringe well. Overall this is a simple yet fashionable ‘do that compliments Ashley’s personal style as well as her face shape and facial features.

Ashley is a color chameleon and has bounced between brown, blonde and red over the years, all which suit her well. She has a medium warm skin tone and amber brown eyes, both which are highlighted by her current rust red hair color. No highlights are needed here as this rich red tone looks best on its own.

Styling Steps

1. Apply Mousse

Placeholder articles

Apply styling mousse to damp hair, using your palm as a measuring guide, and evenly distribute it along the hair shaft. Styling mousse will add hold and can help achieve better results.

2. Part to the Left

Placeholder articles

Using the corner of your comb and standing in front of a mirror find the middle of your left eye and then drag the comb straight up slowly until you reach your hairline and then continue back in a straight manner to achieve an even left part. A side part is great for longer face shapes because it creates the illusion of width.

3. Use a Medium Radial Brush

Placeholder articles

A medium radial brush is used on medium to long hair types to smooth out wavy or curly hair textures or to add body to straight hair. When selecting a radial brush, always use one with a pure bristle as this will not tear or damage the hair.

4. Blow-dry the Back Under

Placeholder articles

To blow-dry under, start at the nape/back and place your brush under the section of hair close to the nape. With the dryer held up over the hair, pull the brush from the roots and continue to the mid length's, keeping the blow-dryer following over the top. Once you reach the ends, curve them under. Repeat this step until the section is completely dry.

5. Blow-dry Left Side Back

Placeholder articles

Take a section of your hair from your ear to your temple that is the same diameter as the brush. Place your brush on top of the hair starting at the roots and pull the hair slowly in a backward direction with your blow-dryer following in front. Be sure the section is dry and then repeat the step on a new section of hair directly behind.

6. Blow-dry Right Side Back

7. Piece the Ends Using Wax

Placeholder articles

Apply a small amount of wax to your fingertips and then lightly piece and pinch the ends of your hair.

8. Apply Smoothing Shine

Placeholder articles

Apply a very small amount of smoothing shine to the palms of your hands and then run it through the mid-lengths and ends of your hair. Be careful not to add any to the roots or a large amount to any section of the hair as smoothing shine can be very heavy on the hair, weighing it down and making it appear oily.

9. Apply Hairspray

Placeholder articles

To finish, apply a minimal amount of hairspray from an arms length distance to the top, sides and back. Take care not to use too much or you will end up with a white, flaky residue which looks like dandruff.
