Description

These thick jet black locks are left out to dust the shoulders and frame the face. Ideal for an oval or oblong face shape, this striking hairstyle will turn heads at any occasion and is easy to re-create at home with the right tools.

Natalie Halcro loves to wear sexy hairstyles that match her bold personality. This bob is not only fashionable for Natalie but it also suits her oval face shape and thick hair type perfectly. Natalie has a low forehead which looks best with a center part and grown out fringe, as seen here. The rest of the hair has been blow-dried with the ends turned up to frame her face and soften up her strong jaw line. This leaves her with a voluminous hairdo that has classic style and elegance.

Natalie adds a striking touch to her simple bob with glossy jet black locks that create drama and intrigue. This works well with her warm, tanned complexion and bright blue eyes. No highlights are needed here as this rich raven black shade looks best on its own.

Natalie Halcro is a reality television personality who has been featured on the E! network show "WAGS".

Styling Steps

1. Part the Middle

Partmiddle

Using the corner of your comb and standing in front of a mirror find the middle of your nose and then drag the comb straight up slowly until you reach your hairline and then continue back in a straight manner to achieve an even middle part. A middle part is a great way to make small, round face shapes appear longer and thinner.

2. Apply Smoothing Shine

Smoothingshine

Apply a very small amount of smoothing shine to the palms of your hands and then run it through the mid-lengths and ends of your hair. Smoothing shine will work best on any hair type and style, but is especially good for smoothing down frizzy hair.

3. Use a Large Radial Brush

Brushlarge

A large radial brush is usually used on long straight hair types or to smooth out wavy or curly hair textures. When selecting a radial brush, always use one with a pure bristle as this will not tear or damage the hair.

4. Use a Blow-dryer to Kick Out the Back

Backflicks

Starting at the nape/back of the hair, place your brush on top of the section and blow-dryer down starting from the roots and using tension as you go. Next, place the blow-dryer underneath the hair and continue to blow-dry the ends out. Make sure to follow the brush with the blow-dryer in an outwards direction. If you like fuller flicks, hold the ends out and roll them up into the brush and apply the heat for longer.

5. Use a Blow-dryer to Kick Out the Sides

Sidesflicks

To blow-dry the sides, take out your first sections from the front and clip the rest of the hair up. Place your brush on top of the section, and starting from the roots, blow-dry down using tension as you go. Next, place the blow-dryer underneath the hair and continue to blow-dry the ends out. Continue this step until the hair is dry.

6. Blow-dry the Crown

Crown

To blow-dry the crown/top sections, take a section of hair no bigger than the diameter of the brush and blow-dry the hair placing the brush under the section of hair. With your blow-dryer in front of the brush, follow the brush in an upwards direction at the roots and an outwards position at the ends for volume and softness. Continue until the section is dry.

7. Use a Straightening Iron

Iron

When straightening your hair, first make sure that your hair is completely dry. Then, section your hair off starting from the back/nape using a comb. Straighten your hair starting from the roots and working your way down to the ends using your comb as your guide. Make sure not to leave the straightening iron in one spot for more than 3 seconds. 8. Apply Hairspray

Hairsprayfinishing

To finish, apply a minimal amount of hairspray from an arms length distance to the top, sides and back. Take care not to use too much or you will end up with a white, flaky residue which looks like dandruff.
