Description

Joey King looks chic and sophisticated here with this sleek and straight 'do. This hairstyle will suit oval, triangle and diamond face shapes the best, and will work nicely with straight and wavy hair textures (wavy will need to be flat ironed for this finish). Regular trims are required to keep the ends looking blunt and healthy, and the layers looking fresh in the front. Joey has added some subtle auburn highlights throughout the ends of her hair for a gorgeous finish and shine.

Joey Lynn King is an American actress. She is known for her starring role as Ramona Quimby in Ramona and Beezus, the 2010 adaptation of Beverly Cleary's book series with the same title.

Styling Steps

1. Apply Straightening Balm

Straighteningbalm

Squeeze a small amount of straightening balm into your palms and then rub your hands together before smoothing the product evenly through damp hair.

2. Part Hair in a Zigzag

Partzigzag

Using the corner of your comb, create a straight part and then place your comb at the hairline and drag it through your hair, crisscrossing from left to right as you go. When you reach your crown, lift the comb up and then split the hair to each side, pulling it down to reveal your zigzag part.

3. Use a Paddle Brush

Paddlebrush

A paddle brush is used for detangling the hair and can be used to smooth out straight hair when blow-drying or styling. It is a must have for every household.

4. Blow-dry Using a Paddle Brush

Paddlebrushstyling

Working in sections starting from the back, place the paddle brush close to the roots and drag it through the strands slowly, taking care not to overheat your hair. Once dry, continue to a new section, completing the back, the sides and then the top section last of all.

5. Use a Straightening Iron

Iron

When straightening your hair, first make sure that your hair is completely dry. Then, section your hair off starting from the back/nape using a comb. Straighten your hair starting from the roots and working your way down to the ends using your comb as your guide. Make sure not to leave the straightening iron in one spot for more than 3 seconds. 6. Apply Smoothing Shine

Smoothingshinefinishing

Apply a very small amount of smoothing shine to the palms of your hands and then run it through the mid-lengths and ends of your hair. Be careful not to add any to the roots or a large amount to any section of the hair as smoothing shine can be very heavy on the hair, weighing it down and making it appear oily.

7. Apply Hairspray

Hairsprayfinishing

To finish, apply a minimal amount of hairspray from an arms length distance to the top, sides and back. Take care not to use too much or you will end up with a white, flaky residue which looks like dandruff.
