Brooke Baldwin Medium Straight Dark Blonde Hairstyle with Light Blonde Highlights

Added: 25 Oct 2015
Layers are cut around the sides and back of these highlighted tresses then blow-waved beautifully to give this style body and movement. This is a great hairdo to complement a long face and great for those with fine to medium hair. Regular trims is needed every 4-6 weeks.

Brooke Baldwin goes for a light and airy look here with this windblown hairstyle. This ‘do has layers all over and is styled away from the face for a bit of Seventies vibe. Not only does this ‘do have style, but it also creates the perfect frame for Brooke’s face. She has a diamond shaped face with a high forehead and strong cheekbones. This hairstyle gives her some nice forehead coverage while highlighting her strong cheekbones and dainty chin. And, the volume at the crown gives her thick locks extra lift where she needs it most.

Brooke has a very warm complexion and blue-grey eyes. This makes her suited to golden brown and blonde hair colors the best. Here, she goes for a golden brown base and sun-kissed highlights throughout which gives her tanned skin a warm glow. Her eye color is also intensified with this hair color combo.

Brooke Baldwin is an American news anchor for the CNN Newsroom.

step 1

Apply styling mousse to damp hair, using your palm as a measuring guide, and evenly distribute it along the hair shaft. Styling mousse will add hold and can help achieve better results.

step 2

A medium radial brush is used on medium to long hair types to smooth out wavy or curly hair textures or to add body to straight hair. When selecting a radial brush, always use one with a pure bristle as this will not tear or damage the hair.

step 3

To blow-dry under, start at the nape/back and place your brush under the section of hair close to the nape. With the dryer held up over the hair, pull the brush from the roots and continue to the mid length's, keeping the blow-dryer following over the top. Once you reach the ends, curve them under. Repeat this step until the section is completely dry.

step 4

Take a section of your hair from your ear to your temple that is the same diameter as the brush. Place your brush on top of the hair starting at the roots and pull the hair slowly in a backward direction with your blow-dryer following in front. Be sure the section is dry and then repeat the step on a new section of hair directly behind.

step 5

Take a section of your hair from your ear to your temple that is the same diameter as the brush. Place your brush on top of the hair starting at the roots and pull the hair slowly in a backward direction with your blow-dryer following in front. Be sure the section is dry and then repeat the step on a new section of hair directly behind.

step 6

Take a section of your hair no wider than the diameter of your brush. Place your brush under and at the roots of your section. Then with your blow-dryer above, drag the brush up through the mid-lengths and ends of the hair following with your blow-dryer and pulling the hair to the left. Repeat until your hair is completely dry.

step 7

Apply a small amount of wax to your fingertips and then lightly piece and pinch the ends of your hair.

step 8

Apply a very small amount of smoothing shine to the palms of your hands and then run it through the mid-lengths and ends of your hair. Be careful not to add any to the roots or a large amount to any section of the hair as smoothing shine can be very heavy on the hair, weighing it down and making it appear oily.

step 9

To finish, apply a minimal amount of hairspray from an arms length distance to the top, sides and back. Take care not to use too much or you will end up with a white, flaky residue which looks like dandruff.
