Added: 10 Nov 2010
This long, auburn hairstyle with side swept bangs is an easy and versatile look that works on everyone. This style is perfect for special occasions when you want your hair to be on point but still flowy and soft.

Our model magnificently rocks this long and wavy light auburn hairstyle with side-swept bangs. She's wearing a beautiful white top with a white chain-style necklace. She looks drop-dead gorgeous in this lovely hairdo, which has plenty of movement thanks to the waves added to the top layers. The long side swept bangs frame the face nicely and complete this look stylishly. This hairstyle is best for those who have long and wavy hair, but can also suit those with straight hair who want to add an element of fun and style to their look. It is best suited for those with thick hair, but not so thick that it needs a lot of styling products to create the soft waves. This makes it perfect for someone who is busy throughout the day and simply wants to keep things simple. The long light auburn shade will add dimension and interest to your hair.

This hairstyle is a very simply maintained with regular trimming after 4 to 6 weeks. It looks great for the spring season, and you can wear it anywhere, from formal occasions to casual ones. Pinch the back section out with your wax and then mess the top sections to create this textured look.

step 1

Apply styling mousse to damp hair, using your palm as a measuring guide, and evenly distribute it along the hair shaft. Styling mousse will add hold and can help achieve better results.

step 2

Lift your hair up with your fingers and move the diffuser up to the ends, motioning the diffuser to the scalp in circular movements. Make sure the blow-dryer speed is on low and try not to completely dry the hair off. Leaving a little bit of moisture will allow the hair to dry naturally.

step 3

A large radial brush is usually used on long straight hair types or to smooth out wavy or curly hair textures. When selecting a radial brush, always use one with a pure bristle as this will not tear or damage the hair.

step 4

To blow-dry your bangs to the side, clip the back and side sections up, leaving just your bangs out. Place your brush beneath your bangs, holding your hair to the side and remembering to hold the tension between your hair and brush. With your blow-dryer on a low setting, apply heat by starting at the roots and make sure to stretch your hair out to the ends. Repeat until your hair is dry.

step 5

To finish the look, apply wax to your fingertips, making sure to smooth the wax over all of your fingers, then simply pinch the wax onto the ends of your hair, applying as much or as little as needed.

step 6

Apply a small amount of wax to your fingertips and then lightly piece and pinch the ends of your hair.

step 7

Apply a very small amount of smoothing shine to the palms of your hands and then run it through the mid-lengths and ends of your hair. Be careful not to add any to the roots or a large amount to any section of the hair as smoothing shine can be very heavy on the hair, weighing it down and making it appear oily.

step 8

To finish, apply a minimal amount of hairspray from an arms length distance to the top, sides and back. Take care not to use too much or you will end up with a white, flaky residue which looks like dandruff.
