This time of year is award ceremonies season, and as part of our coverage of the best Oscars hair and Grammys hair at the up and coming Oscars 2009 and Grammy Awards, we also think it's fair to nominate celebrities who had the worst hair in 2008.

1. Consistently Worst Hair throughout the Year
Some celebrities- whether they're at the Oscars, the Grammys, the Emmys or snapped on the street in Soho New York- always have bad hair. Here are our nominees for the category "Consistently Worst Hair throughout the Year, 2008":
Zac Efron
Some people love Zac's mop, but others hate it thinking it's way too feminine and high-maintenance.
Eva Mendes
I once heard a hairdresser say "Eva is so beautiful, but her hair's always terrible." Do you agree?
Cameron Diaz
Mainly known for having awful Oscars hair, Cameron Diaz has a reputation for having bad hair off the red-carpet too.
Amy Winehouse
Amy Winehouse is an obvious choice for the category "Consistently Worst Hair throughout the Year," but that's because her hair's, well... consistently terrible.
2. Worst Hair on the Street
Some celebs look great at photo shoots, yet make no effort at all when they're going about their day to day business. Take these nominees for example:
Katie Holmes
Sure, she looked fabulous all dressed up with her bob last year, but in-between red-carpet appearances she more often than not looks tired and quite haggard.
Lily Allen
If "messy and a bit all over the place" is your thing, then you'll probably won't agree that Lily Allen's a solid contender for "Worst Hair on the Street, 2008."
Ashley Olsen (or Mary Kate Olsen)
Olsen twins or no-effort-lank-hair twins?
Kate Moss
She was one of the hottest models around in the 90s, but lately she's just let it all go and seems much more interested in other "things"...
3. Worst Hair Color
Some celebrities can never get their hair color right- whether it just plain doesn't suit them or they're too lazy to deal with their regrowth. The nominees for "Worst Hair Color, 2008" are:
Bai Ling
This hairstyle is just the tip of the iceberg for Bai Ling... "Shocking" and "different" are cool things to aim for with your hair, but they just never seem to work in her case.
Britney Spears
Sometimes she hits the jackpot with her hairstyles (at the MTV Awards for example), but most of the time Britney's a little too generous with the bleach.
Sarah Jessica Parker
Give us a break from that golden blonde color and regrowth please!
4. Worst Hair on the Red-Carpet
Some red-carpet images just stick in your head because you can't believe the celebrities' bad hair; for example:
Daniel Day-Lewis
Check out Daniel Day Lewis' Oscars Hair 2008. For everyone except him, hairstyles like this went out of fashion (in high school) in the early 90s.
Colin Farrell
Coin Farrell's Oscars Hair 2008 is another big contender for the category, "Worst Hair on the Red-Carpet." Colin, you really missed the "rugged," "sexy" mark you were clearly aiming for.
The Sex and the City Stars
One of the biggest red-carpet disappointments in 2008 was definitely the premiere of Sex and the City. All the stars looked way too casual. Sorry girls, your hair ain't pretty.
