A real hairstyle trend this year was the tried and true upstyle.
Drew Barrymore showed off a smooth bun, while Nicole Kidman went for some sex appeal with a side bun. Sandra Bullock's loose wavy upstyle got a little messy, but we're sure her win for Best Actress kept her smiling. And our final pick for a nice upstyle was Mariah Carey's classic ponytail.

For those who didn't wear their hair up, straight textures and wavy textures dominated and hair accessories were used to add a touch of glamour.
Christina Aguilera showed off her new mid-length bob, Leona Lewis let her blonde hair color shine with a simple, straight layered hairstyle, Rose Byrne used a hair clip to add some sparkle to her long waves, and Carey Mulligan dressed her short crop with a jeweled headband.
