Here, Jessica Collins shows off a great way to look better as a square. If this is your face shape too, then check out these tips on how to soften up your shape:

Jessica Collins hairstyles

Jessica is wearing her hair just past the shoulder, which is a great hair length for squares. It's true for square face shapes that the longer the hair, the better when it comes to softening up their features. If you prefer short hair, you can pull this off too, but just make sure that your cut doesn't end at the jawline and it has plenty of layers around the face.

Soft waves or curls are another fabulous way to look softer as a square. If you aren't blessed with natural waves, use a curling wand or curling iron on low heat for super soft waves like Jessica's.

Another good tip is to add some diagonal lines to your look to get rid of the square shape. Along with getting layers in your lengths and ends, add a cheekbone-length side-swept fringe. If you don't like wearing hair on your forehead, you can always sweep it off the face and to the side for the same effect, as seen on Jessica.

Choose a deep side part to soften your square face. An off centre hair part works as well if your haircut doesn't accommodate a deep side part or if you have very thick, curly hair.
