A style chameleon in her own right, Nicole Richie is not afraid to experiment with her fashion sense, hair color or makeup style. She also bounces back and forth with her bangs, sometimes wearing a fringe and other times leaving them to grow out. The question is, what style suits her square face shape better?
Years ago, Nicole was wearing a short, side-swept fringe with long layered hair. This length of bangs suited her face shape but she needs more layering and thickness to properly frame her eyes.
In a dramatic dark hair color, Nicole looks fabulous with a long peek-a-boo fringe. This type of fringe is perfect for square face shapes as it makes the face look less horizontal.
For a sophisticated look, Nicole has grown her bangs out to match her wavy shoulder length style. This hairdo softens up her face shape and is a great choice for squares.
Here, Nicole channels a hippie look with long waves and a layered eye-skimming fringe. If you want a full fringe like the one pictured here, make sure the hairstylist adds lots of texture to the bangs and creates longer sides to give a rounded shape to the fringe, rather than a blunt square shape.
If you have the same face shape, you can see here that it is possible to wear bangs and no bangs if you have a good stylist. In Nicole's case, bangs looks more rock-chick and edgy, whereas a grown out fringe looks more elegant. What look is your favorite?
