Meagan Good Short Wavy Black Hairstyle

Added: 01 Mar 2012
Meagan Good was spotted on the red carpet looking stunning as ever. Wearing a pewter-hued satin gown and sparkling diamond earrings, Meagan looked every inch the glamorous movie star, topped off by her side-swept hairdo.

If you're looking for a hairstyle to wow crowds and onlookers, then this might be one for you. The back and one side is cut short and close to the head, leaving the top and opposite side longer with layers for texture and shape for a an asymmetric finish. This fantastic 'do is great to frame a long face and will need regular trims to maintain shape.

You can copy Meagan's look if you have a short haircut that has longer layers on top, with the sides and back tapered close to the head. Start by creating some bouncy curls in your hair by using hair rollers or a curling iron. Meagan has given her curls a Seventies- inspired flip by curling them outwards from the head rather than inwards, which you can copy easily. After your curls are perfected, create a deep side hair part that will sweep dramatically over your face, and spray into place.

If you have medium or long hair, simply pin your hair back in a French roll or bun, and leave some face framing layers out as Meagan has done. From the front, it will look exactly the same!

Meagan has completed her red carpet look with flawless, soft makeup that keeps the focus on her beautiful face and hair.

This hairstyle looks great on all face shapes, so try this at your next formal event!

step 1

Apply styling mousse to damp hair, using your palm as a measuring guide, and evenly distribute it along the hair shaft. Styling mousse will add hold and can help achieve better results.

step 2

A medium radial brush is used on medium to long hair types to smooth out wavy or curly hair textures or to add body to straight hair. When selecting a radial brush, always use one with a pure bristle as this will not tear or damage the hair.

step 3

To blow-dry your bangs you will need to take your brush and firstly make sure the section is no wider than the diameter of the brush. Next, place your brush on top of your head and under your section. Using your blow-dryer on a medium setting, blow-dry your hair from the roots, slowly working your way to the ends. Make sure to keep the blow-dryer in front of the brush at all times. Continue this step until the bangs are completely dry.

step 4

Apply a small amount of wax to your fingertips and then lightly piece and pinch the ends of your hair.

step 5

Apply a small amount of wax to your fingertips, then place it at the roots above your ear and drag it through as you pull your hair behind your ear.

step 6

To finish, apply a minimal amount of hairspray from an arms length distance to the top, sides and back. Take care not to use too much or you will end up with a white, flaky residue which looks like dandruff.
