A long casual curly updo can be described as soft, loose, carefree, and not overdone looking. They range from tied back and pulled up twists, to soft with face-framing pieces falling down. They can be worn everyday at home, work, socializing, or at semi formal functions too.
Method
These types of updos are generally curled, pinned, tied, teased, gelled, waxed, brushed smooth and lacquered into place. Styling time varies depending on how much work is done to the hair, meaning it can be as little as 10 minutes for natural curly hair types, or up to 1 hour and 30 minutes if your hair needs to be curled using rollers or heat appliances.
Benefit
One of the biggest benefits of long curly updos (on natural curly hair) is that they are so quick to create and in most cases don't even require a visit to the salon. These looks are also great for keeping the hair out of the eyes and off the face and, due to their simplicity, they allow clothing, jewellery and other elements to enjoy some attention. Just be aware that steam and moisture can make naturally curl hair frizz.
