Soft And tousled Long Black Hairstyle With Stunning Layers

Added: 10 Nov 2010
The long wavy hairstyle is a popular choice for most women who want to look polished and put together. However, the longer the hair, the more difficult it will be to maintain the looks all throughout your day. Once you cut it, simply add some gel or leave-in conditioner and let the waves do their thing!

Our gleaming model is bringing attention to this beautiful long wavy hairstyle. The model is wearing a gray color shirt with a black leather jacket. She has done her smokey eye makeup with nude glossy lips. Her hair is shiny and bouncy, and she's sparkling with vibes in this hairstyle. For this hair styling, stunning layers cut through the back and sides of this hairstyle create a soft tousled look that frames the shoulders and sits perfectly to frame any long face shape. The bangs are jagged cut to sit just above eye level to complete the overall style magnificently. This hairstyle is suitable for oval, oblong and diamond face shapes. It adds a natural touch to your face. The texture is fine and medium-density. This hairstyle is for all you curly girls out there. It gives you the perfect length and texture to create a beautiful style that works well for everyday wear or special occasions.

This hairstyle is perfect for those who want to have softer, shiny, and bouncy curls with a touch of texture. It takes 4 to 6 weeks to maintain the style, so make sure you start with regular trims to keep it looking new. Pinch the ends of your hair forward to create this textured look.

step 1

Apply styling mousse to damp hair, using your palm as a measuring guide, and evenly distribute it along the hair shaft. Styling mousse will add hold and can help achieve better results.

step 2

A medium radial brush is used on medium to long hair types to smooth out wavy or curly hair textures or to add body to straight hair. When selecting a radial brush, always use one with a pure bristle as this will not tear or damage the hair.

step 3

To blow-dry under, start at the nape/back and place your brush under the section of hair close to the nape. With the dryer held up over the hair, pull the brush from the roots and continue to the mid length's, keeping the blow-dryer following over the top. Once you reach the ends, curve them under. Repeat this step until the section is completely dry.

step 4

To blow-dry the sides, take out a small section of hair from the front and clip the rest of the hair away. Next, place the brush under the section and then pull the brush and hair forward around your face (this curving motion creates body). Place the hair-dryer on top of the brush until you reach the ends and then turn the ends under. Repeat until dry.

step 5

When blow-drying your bangs forward, clip your hair back leaving only your bangs out. Position your bangs evenly in your brush, taking the hair in a forward direction. Blow-dry from roots to ends, keeping the tension consistent, and evenly distribute heat over the whole section of hair that you are working on. Repeat until the hair is dry. This will stop any frizz that may occur.

step 6

Take a section of hair no wider than the diameter of the velcro roller and comb it through to ensure there are no knots. Place the roller at the ends of the section of hair, being sure to smooth the ends under, and then twist the roller down the hair shaft to the roots. Continue applying the velcro rollers all the way through the entire hair for a full volume finish throughout the sides. Keep the rollers in your hair for approximately 20 minutes.

step 7

Apply a small amount of wax to your fingertips and then lightly piece and pinch the ends of your hair.

step 8

Apply a small amount of wax to your fingertips, and then using your fingers, rake through your bangs pinching the ends as you go to create a feathered, textured effect.

step 9

To finish, apply a minimal amount of hairspray from an arms length distance to the top, sides and back. Take care not to use too much or you will end up with a white, flaky residue which looks like dandruff.
