Best and Worst Hairstyles: 2012 Emmy Awards
We take a look at some of the best and some of the worst celebrity hairstyles from this year's Emmy Awards!
It was a case of modern versus classic in the updo stakes. Modern Family star Sarah Hyland opted for a classic updo dressed with romantic curls, while actress Ashley Judd tried a more modern, backcombed updo. While we prefer Sarah's classic take, Ashley's updo was well matched to her dress.
Wearing your hair down at a glamorous event can sometimes look a little boring. The key to a great loose look is to ensure your hair is shiny and healthy looking- á la Emmy winner Claire Danes -or has some beautiful texture like our best long and loose hairstyle winner, Christina Hendricks.
The retro hair trend continues, and what better stage to show it off on than at a huge red carpet event! While Julianne Hough has taken a risk with her faux short finger waves, it's no match for the glamour of Zooey Deschanel's lovely look. She's a pro at perfecting the retro look, and it shows with the brilliant finish of her look.
Even the humble ponytail can be turned into a fierce look with the right styling. While these two looks are similar and feature long, low ponytails, we prefer the subtle soft styling around the face and the volume thorough the back section of Kelly Osbourne's 'do when compared to Maria Menounos. As for matching her lavender locks to her dress, that's one trend Kelly can keep to herself.
