Half Up Long Curly Formal Hairstyle

Description

This is an elegant look for people with naturally curly hair who are looking for a more sophisticated style but have little time to do it. To achieve this 'do, long soft layers were cut around the top and sides to create a soft and even curl throughout. This style will be easy to maintain with regular trims. The Sides: have been blunt cut, with soft layers cut to create a soft, round look. The Back: has been blunt cut and layered to give this style an even look all over.

Styling Steps

Moisturizer
1 . Apply Moisturizer

Apply a small amount of hair moisturizer to the palm of your hand and distribute it evenly through the mid-lengths and the ends. Moisturizer will help your hair to maintain good condition and protect your strands from heat as you style.

Mousse
2 . Apply Mousse

Apply styling mousse to damp hair, using your palm as a measuring guide, and evenly distribute it along the hair shaft. Styling mousse will add hold and can help achieve better results.

Comb
3 . Comb Hair

Comb your hair into the desired direction that you require for styling.

4 . Flip Head and Use a Diffuser and Fingers

Tip your head upside down and move the diffuser up to the ends, motioning the diffuser to the scalp in circular movements. Make sure the blow-dryer speed is on low and try not to completely dry the hair off. Leaving a little bit of moisture will allow the hair to dry naturally.

Partright
5 . Part to the Right

Using the corner of your comb and standing in front of a mirror find the middle of your right eye and then drag the comb straight up slowly until you reach your hairline and then continue back in a straight manner to achieve an even right part. A side part is great for longer face shapes because it creates the illusion of width.

6 . Scrunch Hair Using Gel and Fingers

Apply your gel to the ends of your hair and then lightly pinch and scrunch the hair before allowing your gel to set.

Sidepinback
7 . Pin the Side Back

Take your section of hair and pull it tightly across to the opposite side and pin it securely into place.

Hairsprayfinishing
8 . Apply Hairspray

To finish, apply a minimal amount of hairspray from an arms length distance to the top, sides and back. Take care not to use too much or you will end up with a white, flaky residue which looks like dandruff.
