Description

(Added: 17th July 2017 )
This funky 'do is cut short through the sides and back with one side pulled behind one ear, leaving the opposite side out showing off the textured curls and braids. The top is smoothed over to one side allowing the front to fall on the face to soften the over-all look. This versatile hairstyle needs product for shine and hold and extra styling time for the small braids throughout.

Our model looks gorgeous here in a unique up-do that makes the most of her hair type and facial features. Having a triangular face shape that is wider at the top than it is at the bottom, she looks best in styles that have a side-swept fringe and lots of volume throughout the crown. This short ‘do does just that, with the fringe worn forward across the forehead and bulked up with some corkscrew curls and braids. Our model has tucked the other side behind one ear for a chic finish to this funky ‘do. Ladies with fine hair will especially enjoy this short hairstyle that adds maximum volume and body with some extra styling features like curls and braids.

Having a fair, porcelain complexion and light blue eyes, our model looks best in icy white shades of blonde. This champagne blonde base tone is ideal for her complexion and, along with the pink highlights throughout, this hair hue makes her eyes pop and her complexion glow. A dark fuchsia pink and a lighter baby pink have been used for a multidimensional finish.

Styling Steps

Mousse
1 . Apply Mousse

Apply styling mousse to damp hair, using your palm as a measuring guide, and evenly distribute it along the hair shaft. Styling mousse will add hold and can help achieve better results.

Partright
2 . Part to the Right

Using the corner of your comb and standing in front of a mirror find the middle of your right eye and then drag the comb straight up slowly until you reach your hairline and then continue back in a straight manner to achieve an even right part. A side part is great for longer face shapes because it creates the illusion of width.

Brushlarge
3 . Use a Large Radial Brush

A large radial brush is usually used on long straight hair types or to smooth out wavy or curly hair textures. When selecting a radial brush, always use one with a pure bristle as this will not tear or damage the hair.

Scrunch
4 . Scrunch Dry the Hair with Fingers

Tilt your head forward and then run your fingers through, scrunching as you go, until dry. Once your hair is dry, place the strands into the desired position.

Fingerdry
5 . Finger Dry the Back with Blow-dryer

Use your blow-dryer and your fingers to dry the back of your hair by moving your hair around to allow the heat to pass through it.

6 . Blow-dry Bangs Forward to the Left

To blow-dry your bangs to the side, clip the back and side sections up, leaving just your bangs out. Place your brush beneath your bangs, holding your hair to the side and remembering to hold the tension between your hair and brush. With your blow-dryer on a low setting, apply heat by starting at the roots and make sure to stretch your hair out to the ends. Repeat until your hair is dry.

7 . Use a Small Curling Iron

A small curling iron is used to create small and tight curls.

8 . Use a Curling Iron on the Front and Sides

Starting at the front, take a small section of hair and place the ends at the base of your curling iron barrel and then wrap the hair up around the barrel until you reach your roots. Hold the hair for 5 to 10 seconds and then release the hair by unwinding the strands backwards. Continue this step until all of the hair through your front and sides has been curled.

9 . Use a Curling Iron to Curl the Back

Starting from the back, take a small section of hair and place the ends at the base of your curling iron barrel and then wrap the hair up around the barrel until you reach your roots. Hold the hair for 5 to 10 seconds and then release the hair by unwinding the strands backwards. Continue this step until the entire back section of your hair is completed.

10 . Scrunch Hair Using Moulding Cream and Fingers

Apply your moulding cream to the ends of your hair and then lightly pinch and scrunch the hair before allowing your moulding cream to set.

Toppinching
11 . Use Moulding Cream for Texture

Apply moulding cream to your fingertips and then pinch small clumps of hair in an up and forward motion. Pinch the clumps in different directions for a messier look.

Bangsforwardleft
12 . Style Bangs to the Left Using Moulding Cream

Apply moulding cream to your fingertips then gently rake through your bangs, sweeping the hair to the left as you go. Be careful not to use too much product as it can become sticky and clumpy.

Hairsprayfinishing
13 . Apply Hairspray

To finish, apply a minimal amount of hairspray from an arms length distance to the top, sides and back. Take care not to use too much or you will end up with a white, flaky residue which looks like dandruff.
