Short Textured Hairstyle With Uniform Layers And Body

Added: 10 Nov 2010
Straight hair is the easiest, quickest, and most universal way to style your natural hair. The only problem is that straight hair can sometimes be boring. This is why we bring you this short straight hairstyle which gives you a super short look with plenty of body and volume.

Our model is wearing a short, straight hairstyle with uniform layers in the front and back. She's wearing white and beige colored stone jewelry. The uniform layers create more texture and volume at the back of the head. We love how our model wears this hairstyle with sophistication! For the hair styling, the uniform layers are cut through the back, sides, and top of the hair to balance out the height and texture, making it best suited for those with round face shapes. A simple hairstyle suitable for all-day wear is a straight look with a modern twist. The focus is on sleek, short-length hair that's well-conditioned and air-dried, while the cut itself is exceptionally well-mannered - with no layers to speak of, there won't be any problems while you run daily errands.

This short hairstyle is a great choice for women who want to wear their hair shorter than shoulder length but still want to maintain some separation. You can maintain this hairstyle with regular trims after 4 to 6 weeks. Products with a stronghold will be needed to keep this style in place. Fluff the styling products into the ends of your hair and pinch as you go to create textured edges.

step 1

Evenly mist gel spray around the top and sides to create a soft hold style. Gel spray will hold well and will not look wet or weigh the hair down.

step 2

Using your blow-dryer, dry your hair using your fingers, separating the hair and allowing it to dry at the roots first then the mid lengths and then the ends. Making sure the roots are dry first will ensure that your hairstyle does not fall flat.

step 3

Pick up a small selection of hair from your mid section no bigger than your tail comb. Place your comb at the roots and then comb up and down until the hair is standing up by itself. Continue to the crown and finish at the sides. Repeat this step if you require more volume.

step 4

Using moulding cream and your fingers grab the mid-lengths of your hair and then drag it out and upwards for a full and messy result.

step 5

To get your sides to sit out, apply a small amount of moulding cream to your fingertips and then working mainly on the ends, pinch them while dragging the hair in an out and upwards motion. The more moulding cream and the more pinching that you apply, the more textured and pasty the result.

step 6

Apply moulding cream to your fingertips and then pinch small clumps of hair in an up and forward motion. Pinch the clumps in different directions for a messier look.

step 7

Apply some moulding cream to your fingertips and then rub it into your roots while lifting your strands for added body. Be sure not to use too much moulding cream at the roots as this can result in a glugy and thick uncomfortable feel.

step 8

Lacquer is great for strong hold. A small amount is all that is required to finish and should be applied from an arms length distance to the entire style.
