Description

(Added: 24th April 2016 )
These blonde locks are left out at the front to frame the face, with the length pulled back and pinned at the nape to create this faux bob look. This hairstyle will turn heads at any day or night occasion and is easy to re-create at home with the right tools.

Kate Hudson loves to experiment with her hairstyles and her latest up-do has yielded fabulous results. This faux bob look is not only chic and fashionable but it also suits her square face shape and wavy hair type perfectly. Kate has a low forehead which looks best with a center part and grown out fringe, as seen here. The rest of the hair has been backcombed and teased before being swept to the nape of the neck and pulled into a roll. This leaves Kate with a voluminous hairdo that has style and elegance. A few layers have been left out around her face to keep the focus on her features and give the appearance of a bob.

Kate has naturally dark blonde hair but is a fan of wearing lighter hair colors such as this honey blonde tone. This works well with her warm, tanned complexion and blue eyes. The highlights bring out her features nicely and give her tresses a warm finish.

Kate Hudson is an American actress. She rose to prominence in 2000 for playing Penny Lane in Almost Famous, for which she won a Golden Globe and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress.

Styling Steps

Gelspraytop
1 . Apply Gel Spray

Evenly mist gel spray around the top and sides to create a soft hold style. Gel spray will hold well and will not look wet or weigh the hair down.

Partmiddle
2 . Part the Middle

Using the corner of your comb and standing in front of a mirror find the middle of your nose and then drag the comb straight up slowly until you reach your hairline and then continue back in a straight manner to achieve an even middle part. A middle part is a great way to make small, round face shapes appear longer and thinner.

Crown
3 . Blow-dry the Crown

To blow-dry the crown/top sections, take a section of hair no bigger than the diameter of the brush and blow-dry the hair placing the brush under the section of hair. With your blow-dryer in front of the brush, follow the brush in an upwards direction at the roots and an outwards position at the ends for volume and softness. Continue until the section is dry.

Backunder
4 . Blow-dry the Back Under

To blow-dry under, start at the nape/back and place your brush under the section of hair close to the nape. With the dryer held up over the hair, pull the brush from the roots and continue to the mid length's, keeping the blow-dryer following over the top. Once you reach the ends, curve them under. Repeat this step until the section is completely dry.

Sidesunder
5 . Blow-dry the Sides Under

To blow-dry the sides, take out a small section of hair from the front and clip the rest of the hair away. Next, place the brush under the section and then pull the brush and hair forward around your face (this curving motion creates body). Place the hair-dryer on top of the brush until you reach the ends and then turn the ends under. Repeat until dry.

Midsidecurlingiron
6 . Curl Mid-lengths and Ends with a Curling Iron

Take a small section of hair and place the ends at the base of your curling iron barrel and then wrap the hair up around the barrel until you reach your mid-lengths. Hold the hair for 5 to 10 seconds and then release the hair by unwinding the strands backwards.

Hairsprayfinishing
7 . Apply Hairspray

To finish, apply a minimal amount of hairspray from an arms length distance to the top, sides and back. Take care not to use too much or you will end up with a white, flaky residue which looks like dandruff.
