Added: 18 May 2018
This short length 'do is pulled back, twisted and pinned to the back of the head to create this voluminous hairstyle that will turn heads at any occasion. This stunning 'do is easy to re-create with the right tools and needs strong hold product to keep it in place all day or night.

Jane Fonda goes for a modern up-do here with some soft pieces left out to give an un-done look. She takes a formal updo and creates an sexy hairstyle with lots of interest. Jane usually keeps her hair short to medium length which suits her triangular-shaped face. Here she nicely softens up her stronger jawline by wearing a longer, side swept fringe and some flipped out tendrils around the ears. The deep side part and side-sweeping bangs give her forehead some coverage while creating a sexy peek-a-boo effect to complete this look.

Jane has light blue eyes and a tanned, peachy skin tone which makes her suited to soft beige blonde tones and icy platinum shades the best. Here, she goes for a multidimensional dark blonde base with subtle light honey highlights throughout. This gives her hair a natural looking light blonde shade which flatters her peachy complexion and showcases her light blue eyes.

step 1

Apply styling mousse to damp hair, using your palm as a measuring guide, and evenly distribute it along the hair shaft. Styling mousse will add hold and can help achieve better results.

step 2

A medium radial brush is used on medium to long hair types to smooth out wavy or curly hair textures or to add body to straight hair. When selecting a radial brush, always use one with a pure bristle as this will not tear or damage the hair.

step 3

Starting at the nape/back of the hair, place your brush on top of the section and blow-dryer down starting from the roots and using tension as you go. Next, place the blow-dryer underneath the hair and continue to blow-dry the ends out. Make sure to follow the brush with the blow-dryer in an outwards direction. If you like fuller flicks, hold the ends out and roll them up into the brush and apply the heat for longer.

step 4

To blow-dry the top section back you will need to take your brush and firstly make sure that the section is no wider than the diameter of the brush. Next, place your brush on top of your head and under your section. Using your blow-dryer on a medium setting, blow-dry your hair from the roots, slowly lifting your hair up and working your way to the ends. Make sure to keep the blow-dryer in front of the brush at all times. Continue this step until the top section is completely dry.

step 5

To blow-dry your bangs you will need to take your brush and firstly make sure the section is no wider than the diameter of the brush. Next, place your brush on top of your head and under your section. Using your blow-dryer on a medium setting, blow-dry your hair from the roots, slowly working your way to the ends. Make sure to keep the blow-dryer in front of the brush at all times. Continue this step until the bangs are completely dry.

step 6

Take a section of hair no wider than the diameter of the velcro roller and comb it through to ensure there are no knots. Place the roller at the ends of the section of hair, being sure to smooth the ends under, and then twist the roller down the hair shaft to the roots. Continue applying the velcro rollers all the way through the entire hair for a full volume finish throughout the sides. Keep the rollers in your hair for approximately 20 minutes.

step 7

Pick up a small selection of hair from your mid section no bigger than your tail comb. Place your comb at the roots and then comb up and down until the hair is standing up by itself. Continue to the crown and finish at the sides. Repeat this step if you require more volume.

step 8

To finish, evenly mist gel spray around the top, sides and back to create a lasting style.

step 9

Once your hairstyle is complete, hold your hair into place and then pin your hair into your desired direction.

step 10

Take one section of hair from one side and secure it at the back of your head with a pin. Repeat on the other side to form this style.
