Description

(Added: 28th March 2016 )
These glossy chestnut tresses are left out to fall over the shoulders showing off the loose waves added to the mid-lengths to ends. This trendy 'do is easy to re-create at home with the right tools and perfect for any occasion. Product is needed to tame fly-away hair and regular trims will help prevent split ends.

Alicia Vikander looks lovely here in waved glossy locks that fall to her shoulder. This simple hairstyle is ideal for showing off her gorgeous hair color and framing her oblong face shape. The off center part lets her grown out fringe cascade nicely around her face while the layers give her locks body and bounce. Alicia has chosen to go for a cool and casual beachy look, and lets her hair's natural texture work to her advantage. The shorter layers near the chin and neck balance out her oblong face shape nicely.

As for her color, Alicia has chosen a soft chestnut shade that is perfect for her complexion and eye color. Having a neutral skin tone and amber brown eyes, she is best suited to hair colors that have a yellow or golden base to them. This multidimensional chestnut brown color makes a nice contrast with her complexion and brings the focus to her eyes. It also gives her locks a subtle sun-kissed glow.

Alicia Vikander is a Swedish actress and dancer. Born and raised in Gothenburg, she began acting as a child in minor stage productions at The Göteborg Opera and trained as a ballet dancer as well.

Styling Steps

Gelsprayroots
1 . Apply Gel Spray to Roots

Hold the gel spray no closer than 3 inches from your hair and then evenly mist the gel spray into the roots to create a stronger hold style. Gel spray will hold well and will not look wet or weigh the hair down. Using your gel spray in this fashion will create added hold and a longer lasting style.

Partright
2 . Part to the Right

Using the corner of your comb and standing in front of a mirror find the middle of your right eye and then drag the comb straight up slowly until you reach your hairline and then continue back in a straight manner to achieve an even right part. A side part is great for longer face shapes because it creates the illusion of width.

Dryoff
3 . Use a Blow-dryer and Fingers to Dry Your Hair Off

Using your blow-dryer, dry your hair using your fingers, separating the hair and allowing it to dry at the roots first then the mid lengths and then the ends. Making sure the roots are dry first will ensure that your hairstyle does not fall flat.

Scrunchdrywavy
4 . Scrunch Dry Hair with a Blow-dryer and Fingers

Use your hand to scrunch the hair as you blow-dry. Remember to keep the blow-dryer on a low speed and heat setting and to leave some moisture in your hair.

5 . Use a Curling Iron to Curl the Back

Starting from the back, take a small section of hair and place the ends at the base of your curling iron barrel and then wrap the hair up around the barrel until you reach your roots. Hold the hair for 5 to 10 seconds and then release the hair by unwinding the strands backwards. Continue this step until the entire back section of your hair is completed.

6 . Use a Curling Iron on the Front and Sides

Starting at the front, take a small section of hair and place the ends at the base of your curling iron barrel and then wrap the hair up around the barrel until you reach your roots. Hold the hair for 5 to 10 seconds and then release the hair by unwinding the strands backwards. Continue this step until all of the hair through your front and sides has been curled.

Backmessy
7 . Style the Back Messy Using Moulding Cream

Apply moulding cream to your palms and then roughly rub the moulding cream into back of your style. For a messier finish use circular hand movements.

Sidesmessy
8 . Style Sides Messy Using Moulding Cream

Apply moulding cream to your sides using your fingertips and mess the hair in a circular motion, piecing the ends out as you go and as messy as you like. For a softer hold, use only a small amount of moulding cream.

Smoothingshinefinishing
9 . Apply Smoothing Shine

Apply a very small amount of smoothing shine to the palms of your hands and then run it through the mid-lengths and ends of your hair. Be careful not to add any to the roots or a large amount to any section of the hair as smoothing shine can be very heavy on the hair, weighing it down and making it appear oily.
