AnnaLynne McCord’s Easy Evening Hairstyle and Makeup
This hairstyle suits women with any face shape and the makeup is perfect for women who like to wear warm palettes.
AnnaLynne McCord is praying for something in this photo, but it sure isn’t great hair or makeup—she’s already got that going on! AnnaLynne has gone through quite the style transformation over the years, moving from crazy, curly blonde hair to more demure and sophisticated dark brown, sleek tresses. While she has the beauty and style to pull off any look, her current makeup and hairstyle is particularly flattering.
This hairstyle will suit women with any face shape (bonus!) and the makeup is perfect for women who like to wear warm palettes. If you have a cool complexion, you can simply use the same technique but change the colour up to match your skin tone—ie. swap the warm golden tones for cool pinks. But first, let’s find out how to get AnnaLynne’s glossy evening hairstyle.
To start, you will need medium to long hair that has long layers cut throughout, starting from the jawline area down to the ends. The styling is very easy for ladies with straight hair. Simply create a side part and blow-dry your hair smooth. Then, use hot rollers to add bouncy curls to your hair. Or, you can use a round brush to create curls at the ends, but this takes advanced hair-drying skills, so be warned! Once your curls are in place, separate them slightly at the ends with your fingers and then use a high-hold hairspray to keep them in place.
If you have wavy hair, use a round brush to perfect your waves, or start from scratch by blow-drying and then using hot rollers to style. The former method is much easier and quicker, but the latter will give you a sleeker look, better suited for the evening.
Ladies will curly hair will have to go the long route to get this look unfortunately, which means blow-drying the hair straight, then adding curls with a round brush or rollers. A trip to the salon is the easiest way to do this, but it can also be done at home if you are willing to put the effort in.
To copy her makeup look, you need to start with a glowing base. AnnaLynne doesn’t hide the fact that she is an acne sufferer and swears by the Dermalogica line to keep her skin clear. It seems to be working as her skin is flawless! After you have perfected your base, apply a light bronzer to the sides of your forehead and sweep it down towards the cheekbones—this is one of AnnaLynne’s makeup techniques for a natural sun kissed glow that she divulged to Seventeen readers—you can also see it in action in the above photo.
Next, apply a gorgeous shimmery gold-bronze eye shadow to your lids and just under the bottom lash line. Follow it up with back eyeliner and mascara. Tip: try out McCord’s favourite brand--Estée Lauder’s vibrating lash mascara.
Finally, use a sunset peach lipstick to complete this glowing look. Can’t find that perfect shade? Take a look at AnnaLynne’s go-to lippie line, Nars for the perfect pout. And don’t forget to warm up those cheeks with a pop of colour. Choose a peachy-pink cream blush and apply it to the apples of the cheeks for a fresh, natural glow.
