Short Wavy Layered Brunette and Blonde Two-Tone Bob with Side Swept Bangs

Cobie Smulders was amazing in how I met your mother and her new hairstyle is the reason why we are speaking about her once again! The layers in her hairstyle are stunning! By layering your hair, you give it texture, depth, and shape while preventing your tresses from looking flat and one-dimensional. Adding layers can bring out curls or waves that would otherwise be concealed. This method makes fine hair look more voluminous and thick without compromising length. Generally, layered hair tends to be perkier and has more movement. Add volume to your hair to elongate your face with a short style. This is an ideal style for people who wish to make their faces appear longer than they are. Additionally, the volume helps you appear to have more hair than you actually do. A person with thinning hair can benefit from this method. She has placed her hair behind one ear, which is a very nice touch. Your prominent cheekbones are accentuated when you tuck your hair behind your ears! To take this look to the next level, Cobie has braided one side of her hair as well. This helps keep her hair out of her face and at the same time, adds something fun to the hairstyle.

When it comes to your makeup application, you want something that is formal and yet soft at the same time. You can go for a smokey eye and add some color to the bottom of your lid to help bring out the color of your eyes. Do not forget to contour and highlight your face and neck area to help create the illusion of a perfect oval face shape. Finish off with a bold statement like a red lip such as Cobie has done or you can go more subtle with a lip gloss.

Long Wavy Dark Brunette and Light Brunette Two-Tone

This is such a classic hairstyle that Cobie Smulders is sharing with us, and yet it is still a favorite. The parting down the middle allows her curls to frame her face evenly on both sides. The curls are quite big which is awesome because it adds a lot of volume and bounce to her hairstyle. This style looks phenomenal when you're walking down the street like a boss! You want to make sure that you remember the fact that curls drop throughout the day. The bigger the curl, the shorter they last. When you want to go out with this style, style it just before you go. That way, by the end of your outing or workday, you will have waves and movement still in your hair. Finish off with some hairspray to lock in your curls and your hairstyle is ready to rock the day! It will be necessary to cut your hair once every four weeks or so if you want the color to stay on your hair and for the haircut to stay in good shape. If you plan on adding color, you will need to touch up your color about every six weeks to keep the color vibrant and to avoid your roots showing through.

If you want your makeup application to be natural, keep it simple. Alternatively, you can do a simple wing liner using your browns and golds. Your day is ready to begin when you add a neutral or pastel lip color.
