Short Hair

Although she missed out on the Best Actress award, Michelle Williams was a real winner on the hairstyle front. Her pixie haircut has become her trademark look, and it continues to suit her and every red carpet event she's been to this season. New to her short hair is Cameron Diaz, and while we're all for a change in hair length, the style of her short 'do seemed a little too casual for Hollywood's night of nights.

Side Style

It wouldn't be a glamorous event without a side style. Stacy Keibler took her option to a retro, old Hollywood level with her soft waves and was successful in creating a very chic look. For her side style, Busy Philipps played it simple with shiny, straight strands, but the result ended up being a little too boring and did nothing to flatter her long face shape.

Updo

We love a red carpet updo, and Missi Pyle gets it right with her gorgeous wavy upstyle. There's definition in her waves, softness around her face and just enough height to keep the look interesting. While Kate Mara does create a pretty look, it's a little too loose and casual for the Oscars and could have done with nice hair accessory or drop earrings to add that little something extra.

Waves

We were so glad to see that Angelina Jolie finally put some movement and body into her long hair. Her red carpet looks have been very boring lately, but this sexy, wavy 'do is a step in the right direction. We're also loving her soft brunette hair color. For her waves, Milla Jovovich has done a nice job of creating a wavy look that also flattered her overall look, but we would have loved to have seen more separation and definition in her waves to make the style truly memorable.
