Short Light Blonde Hairstyle With Tapered Neckline And Long Top And Sides

Added: 10 Nov 2010
This short light blonde hairstyle is a variation of the classic straight haircut that is chic and modern. The side bangs add a little drama, while some length in the front and back keep hair from looking too flat. This is a perfect hairstyle for women who want their hairstyle to be easy, fast and comfortable.

Our stunning model is wearing a short, straight hairstyle with bold red lip color. She's wearing a black backless top with embellished black earrings and smokey eyes, accentuating the overall appearance of this beautiful hairstyle. For the hair styling, this gorgeous hairstyle is tapered into the nape through the back, blending into the textured layers through the top and sides, which creates this magnificent shape best suited to complement a round face shape. The brilliant use of the two-tone color technique adds life to the overall look and completes the hairstyle perfectly. This hairstyle is suited for round, oval, and square faces. It works best with medium-thickness hair and fine-to-medium hair texture. This is a short, matte bob with shape and is a great style to keep hair off the face and still maintain a slightly feathered look when you want to let your hair down.

This straight look is one of the most popular short hairstyles for women. Short cuts are easy to maintain, with regular trims after 4 to 6 weeks. This style is a great way to add dimension and volume to your hair. It's easy to maintain, so you can get great results every time you do it! This is an ideal look for a night out or casual day-to-day wear. Direct your hair into position while applying the finishing products.

step 1

Apply styling mousse to damp hair, using your palm as a measuring guide, and evenly distribute it along the hair shaft. Styling mousse will add hold and can help achieve better results.

step 2

A medium radial brush is used on medium to long hair types to smooth out wavy or curly hair textures or to add body to straight hair. When selecting a radial brush, always use one with a pure bristle as this will not tear or damage the hair.

step 3

Using your brush, blow-dry in small sections starting from the nape/back. Tilting your head forward, place the brush an inch below the roots to hold them taut and aim the dryer above the brush for a few seconds before continuing to the ends.

step 4

To blow-dry the crown/top sections, take a section of hair no bigger than the diameter of the brush and blow-dry the hair placing the brush under the section of hair. With your blow-dryer in front of the brush, follow the brush in an upwards direction at the roots and an outwards position at the ends for volume and softness. Continue until the section is dry.

step 5

Using your brush, blow-dry in small sections starting from the sides. Tilting your head forward, place the brush an inch below the roots to hold them taut and aim the dryer above the brush for a few seconds before continuing to the ends. Repeat this step on a new section directly above the dry one.

step 6

Take a section of your hair no wider than the diameter of your brush. Place your brush under and at the roots of your section. Then with your blow-dryer above, drag the brush up through the mid-lengths and ends of the hair following with your blow-dryer and pulling the hair to the left. Repeat until your hair is completely dry.

step 7

To blow-dry your bangs to the side, clip the back and side sections up, leaving just your bangs out. Place your brush beneath your bangs, holding your hair to the side and remembering to hold the tension between your hair and brush. With your blow-dryer on a low setting, apply heat by starting at the roots and make sure to stretch your hair out to the ends. Repeat until your hair is dry.

step 8

Pick up a small selection of hair from your mid section no bigger than your tail comb. Place your comb at the roots and then comb up and down until the hair is standing up by itself. Continue to the crown and finish at the sides. Repeat this step if you require more volume.

step 9

Apply some wax to your fingertips and then pull through the ends of your hair in a downward motion to achieve a sculptured look. Pinch clumps of hair in different directions for a messier result.

step 10

Using a small amount of wax, work it through the mid-lengths and ends in a downward, pinching motion. For added texture, apply more pinching and more wax.

step 11

Apply wax to your fingertips then drag through your bangs, sweeping the hair to the left as you go. Pinching the ends will create soft texture.

step 12

Apply some hard wax to your fingertips and then rub it into your roots while lifting your strands for soft volume.

step 13

Lacquer is great for strong hold. A small amount is all that is required to finish and should be applied from an arms length distance to the entire style.
