Description

Subtle layers are cut through the back and sides of this espresso mane to balance out the bounce and body of the waves, while the fringe has been smoothed down and to the side to frame the eyes. This short easy style is best suited for those with naturally wavy hair and is perfect to frame a long face. Regular trims will help prevent split ends and product is needed to tame fly-away hair.

Nina Dobrev looks gorgeous here in a short bob with a twist. This cut is ideal for ladies like her who want to work with their hair’s natural texture rather than against it. She has a triangular face and close-set eyes which are nicely highlighted by this ‘do. Her high, broad forehead is camouflaged well by the thick fringe that has been layered and swept to the side. Her strong cheekbones are also enhanced by this short cut. This hairstyle would look gorgeous blow-dried sleek and straight for a different look that would still flatter her face shape, if she had extra styling time and craved a new variation of her 'do.

Nina is flaunting a gorgeous dark brunette hair color here with subtle highlights throughout the top layers. This looks fabulous with her warm, fair complexion and dark eyes. The texture of her cut is highlighted by her rich color and finishes her 'do off with a shiny and healthy look. Regular color refreshers are needed with this shade to protect against fading.

Nina Dobrev is a Bulgarian-Canadian actress. She is known for portraying the role of Mia Jones in the drama series Degrassi: The Next Generation and then Elena Gilbert on The CW's supernatural drama series The Vampire Diaries.

Styling Steps

1. Part to the Right

Partright

Using the corner of your comb and standing in front of a mirror find the middle of your right eye and then drag the comb straight up slowly until you reach your hairline and then continue back in a straight manner to achieve an even right part. A side part is great for longer face shapes because it creates the illusion of width.

2. Scrunch Dry Hair with a Blow-dryer and Fingers

Scrunchdrywavy

Use your hand to scrunch the hair as you blow-dry. Remember to keep the blow-dryer on a low speed and heat setting and to leave some moisture in your hair.

3. Use a Medium Radial Brush

Brushmedium

A medium radial brush is used on medium to long hair types to smooth out wavy or curly hair textures or to add body to straight hair. When selecting a radial brush, always use one with a pure bristle as this will not tear or damage the hair.

4. Blow-dry Bangs Forward to the Left

Bangsforwardleft

To blow-dry your bangs to the side, clip the back and side sections up, leaving just your bangs out. Place your brush beneath your bangs, holding your hair to the side and remembering to hold the tension between your hair and brush. With your blow-dryer on a low setting, apply heat by starting at the roots and make sure to stretch your hair out to the ends. Repeat until your hair is dry.

5. Use a Medium Curling Iron

Curlingironmed

A medium curling iron is used to create medium sized curls.

6. Curl Mid-lengths and Ends with a Curling Iron

Midsidecurlingiron

Take a small section of hair and place the ends at the base of your curling iron barrel and then wrap the hair up around the barrel until you reach your mid-lengths. Hold the hair for 5 to 10 seconds and then release the hair by unwinding the strands backwards.

7. Scrunch Hair Using Moulding Cream and Fingers

Apply your moulding cream to the ends of your hair and then lightly pinch and scrunch the hair before allowing your moulding cream to set.

8. Style Bangs to the Left Using Moulding Cream

Bangsforwardleft

Apply moulding cream to your fingertips then gently rake through your bangs, sweeping the hair to the left as you go. Be careful not to use too much product as it can become sticky and clumpy.

9. Apply Hairspray

Hairsprayfinishing

To finish, apply a minimal amount of hairspray from an arms length distance to the top, sides and back. Take care not to use too much or you will end up with a white, flaky residue which looks like dandruff.
