Straight Chin-Length Hairstyle With Zig-Zag Part

Added: 04 Apr 2013
A medium-length straight cut is a perfect hairstyle to complement a wide range of face shapes, so whether you love those modern long cuts or prefer a polished look, this style is perfect for you.

Our model is wearing a medium-straight hairstyle in this photo. The model is wearing a turquoise hue collar-style top with glossy red lips. She looks gorgeous in this hairstyle which suits her overall personality well. This is a great style for those looking to add a little fun factor to their style. For this hair styling, the edges are jagged cut to create a weightless finish, with layers through the crown area to add height and volume through the top. The stunning colour was a perfect finish to this look. This medium hairstyle is perfect for those with fine or medium hair density. This hairstyle will work well for women with round, oval and heart-shaped face shapes. It is also great for thinning hair and women with a triangular-shaped face. This stylish and simple hairstyle is a great option for women with fine, naturally wavy hair. The medium length will allow you to style it any way you like, and it can be worn straight, curly or wavy. This mid-length hairstyle is the perfect everyday look. The sides and back of your head are left a little longer than the top, leaving room for versatility when styling.

The medium straight hairstyle is suitable for those who want a medium-length hairstyle without any dramatic effect. You can maintain this hairstyle with regular trimming after 4 to 6 weeks to maintain the hairstyle in shape and avoid split ends. Use your fingers to pinch the styling products through to create a textured finish.

step 1

Apply styling mousse to damp hair, using your palm as a measuring guide, and evenly distribute it along the hair shaft. Styling mousse will add hold and can help achieve better results.

step 2

Using the corner of your comb, create a straight part and then place your comb at the hairline and drag it through your hair, crisscrossing from left to right as you go. When you reach your crown, lift the comb up and then split the hair to each side, pulling it down to reveal your zigzag part.

step 3

Using your brush, blow-dry in small sections starting from the nape/back. Tilting your head forward, place the brush an inch below the roots to hold them taut and aim the dryer above the brush for a few seconds before continuing to the ends.

step 4

Using your brush, blow-dry in small sections starting from the sides. Tilting your head forward, place the brush an inch below the roots to hold them taut and aim the dryer above the brush for a few seconds before continuing to the ends. Repeat this step on a new section directly above the dry one.

step 5

To blow-dry the crown/top sections, take a section of hair no bigger than the diameter of the brush and blow-dry the hair placing the brush under the section of hair. With your blow-dryer in front of the brush, follow the brush in an upwards direction at the roots and an outwards position at the ends for volume and softness. Continue until the section is dry.

step 6

Apply some wax to your fingertips and then pull through the ends of your hair in a downward motion to achieve a sculptured look. Pinch clumps of hair in different directions for a messier result.

step 7

To get your sides to sit out, apply a small amount of wax to your fingertips and then working mainly on the ends, pinch them while dragging the hair in an out and upwards motion. Be careful not to overdo that wax or your result will be a flat and limp style.

step 8

Apply some hard wax to your fingertips and then rub it into your roots while lifting your strands for soft volume.

step 9

Pick up a small selection of hair from your mid section no bigger than your tail comb. Place your comb at the roots and then comb up and down until the hair is standing up by itself. Continue to the crown and finish at the sides. Repeat this step if you require more volume.

step 10

Apply a very small amount of smoothing shine to the palms of your hands and then run it through the mid-lengths and ends of your hair. Be careful not to add any to the roots or a large amount to any section of the hair as smoothing shine can be very heavy on the hair, weighing it down and making it appear oily.

step 11

Lacquer is great for strong hold. A small amount is all that is required to finish and should be applied from an arms length distance to the entire style.
