Straight Chin-Length Red Hairstyle With Asymmetrical Bangs

Added: 11 Nov 2010
This medium straight red hairstyle is one of the most popular styles with side-swept bangs that is perfect for everyday wear or the next special occasion. This 'do is natural and easy to maintain, and it requires very little hair product but still looks great. It is among the most versatile hairdos, which can be worn with almost any outfit.

Our model is sporting this 'do with an asymmetrical appearance and is wearing a black strip top with grey and smudge eyeliner. This 'do is a perfect blend of both elegance and personality, and it has medium layers cut into the back and sides to modify the classic shape while keeping the solid length for a dull finish. Jagged cut bangs are cut to frame the face and complete the overall look stylishly. This straight red hairstyle is suited to all face shapes and hair types. In addition, if you have a round or oval-shaped face, you should not apply the product on the crown of your head as it will create too much volume and give you an exaggerated look. Medium to thick hair density would be best suited for this hairstyle. It is great for all seasons and looks great with all hair textures.

You can maintain this hairstyle with regular trims after every 4 to 6 weeks to prevent split ends. You don't have to wash your hair daily, but it must be brushed out after showering or washing your hands. Use the straightening iron to give your hair a dead straight finish.

step 1

Squeeze a small amount of straightening balm into your palms and then rub your hands together before smoothing the product evenly through damp hair.

step 2

Using the corner of your comb and standing in front of a mirror find the middle of your right eye and then drag the comb straight up slowly until you reach your hairline and then continue back in a straight manner to achieve an even right part. A side part is great for longer face shapes because it creates the illusion of width.

step 3

A medium radial brush is used on medium to long hair types to smooth out wavy or curly hair textures or to add body to straight hair. When selecting a radial brush, always use one with a pure bristle as this will not tear or damage the hair.

step 4

Using your brush, blow-dry in small sections starting from the nape/back. Tilting your head forward, place the brush an inch below the roots to hold them taut and aim the dryer above the brush for a few seconds before continuing to the ends.

step 5

Using your brush, blow-dry in small sections starting from the sides. Tilting your head forward, place the brush an inch below the roots to hold them taut and aim the dryer above the brush for a few seconds before continuing to the ends. Repeat this step on a new section directly above the dry one.

step 6

To blow-dry your bangs to the side, clip the back and side sections up, leaving just your bangs out. Place your brush beneath your bangs, holding your hair to the side and remembering to hold the tension between your hair and brush. With your blow-dryer on a low setting, apply heat by starting at the roots and make sure to stretch your hair out to the ends. Repeat until your hair is dry.

step 7

When straightening your hair, first make sure that your hair is completely dry. Then, section your hair off starting from the back/nape using a comb. Straighten your hair starting from the roots and working your way down to the ends using your comb as your guide. Make sure not to leave the straightening iron in one spot for more than 3 seconds. step 8

Apply a very small amount of smoothing shine to the palms of your hands and then run it through the mid-lengths and ends of your hair. Be careful not to add any to the roots or a large amount to any section of the hair as smoothing shine can be very heavy on the hair, weighing it down and making it appear oily.

step 9

To finish, apply a minimal amount of hairspray from an arms length distance to the top, sides and back. Take care not to use too much or you will end up with a white, flaky residue which looks like dandruff.
