Drew Barrymore went from wild child to bohemian beauty to glam goddess over the years, but no matter what style she rocked, she always looks comfortable in her own skin. Although she suited her lighter locks, Drew looks confident and gorgeous in this dark shade that is close to her natural hair color.

This dark brown mane is is blunt cut at the length and has only long subtle layers cut through the edges to lighten the ends making it easy to maintain. This is a simple style best suited for those wanting a low-fuss style to compliment a round face. Regular trims is needed to prevent split ends.

If you are thinking of going back to your roots, check out these tips for a smooth transition:
1) Going back to your natural color can be shocking at first. To avoid feeling overwhelmed by your new hue, leave in some subtle highlights throughout the lengths and ends. Drew's reddish-brown highlights add some warmth to her face and break up the dark color.

2) Only go one to two shades darker than your natural color. If your natural shade is mousy, try adding some gold or red tones to spice it up, rather than going too dark.

3) Adjust your makeup to your new shade. Drew usually goes for a natural look, but has chosen deeper tones to brighten up her skin and match her darker hair color.

Although this picture was taken a while ago, Drew Barrymore is flaunting one of the hottest hair trends for this season — the bouffant updo. If you want to try something new, here’s how to get this high volume style:

This style works best with hair that is slightly wavy. So if you have curly hair, blow-dry your hair smooth, leaving a slight wave in at the end. A round brush can help you achieve this look. If you have straight hair, use medium to large hair rollers to set in some curls.

- After your hair has a bit of wave added to it, grab a fine comb and start backcombing, concentrating on the crown area where you will create your mini-bouffant. Give your roots a spritz of hairspray after they have been backcombed to hold in the volume.

- Create a loose off-centre hair part like Drew has done here. Or, if it suits your face shape, you could also go for a centre part.

- Leave some layers out to frame your face, and then softly comb the rest of your hair back, leaving the tension loose at the crown area.

- To secure the hair in the back, you have a few options to choose from. You can roll it into a French twist or create a bun. For a more casual look, you can even flaunt a groomed ponytail - choose whatever suits your outfit and the occasion.

This full bodied up-style is teased and pinned at the roots to create maximum height and lift which makes it perfect for those with round face shapes. This hairstyle will suit any occasion. This is a fabulous look for Fall 2012, try it out and let us know how you worked it!
