Maria Menounos Medium Straight Formal Bob Hairstyle

Added: 23rd June 2017
These shiny brunette locks are cut to shoulder length to frame the face. The back has been loosely swept up for a classic look. Ideal for an oval or heart face shape, this striking hairstyle will turn heads at any occasion and is easy to re-create at home with the right tools.

Maria Menounos has created a gorgeous, loose up-do to jazz up her blunt bob. This bob is not only fashionable for Maria but it also suits her heart face shape and thick hair type perfectly. Maria has a low forehead which looks best with a center part and grown out fringe, as seen here. The rest of the hair has been blow-dried silky smooth to frame her face and highlight her strong jaw line, with the back pulled up to give her a softer, elegant look. This is a great way to create a more formal look when the hair is too short to pull up completely.

Maria adds a striking touch to her simple bob with glossy chestnut locks and golden blonde tips that create drama and intrigue. This works well with her warm, tan complexion and dark brown eyes. Overall, her tresses look shiny and healthy with a sun-kissed glow.

Maria Menounos is an American actress, journalist, television host, and occasional professional wrestler of Greek descent.

Gelsprayroots
1 . Apply Gel Spray to Roots

Hold the gel spray no closer than 3 inches from your hair and then evenly mist the gel spray into the roots to create a stronger hold style. Gel spray will hold well and will not look wet or weigh the hair down. Using your gel spray in this fashion will create added hold and a longer lasting style.

Partmiddle
2 . Part the Middle

Using the corner of your comb and standing in front of a mirror find the middle of your nose and then drag the comb straight up slowly until you reach your hairline and then continue back in a straight manner to achieve an even middle part. A middle part is a great way to make small, round face shapes appear longer and thinner.

Brushmedium
3 . Use a Medium Radial Brush

A medium radial brush is used on medium to long hair types to smooth out wavy or curly hair textures or to add body to straight hair. When selecting a radial brush, always use one with a pure bristle as this will not tear or damage the hair.

Backunder
4 . Blow-dry the Back Under

To blow-dry under, start at the nape/back and place your brush under the section of hair close to the nape. With the dryer held up over the hair, pull the brush from the roots and continue to the mid length's, keeping the blow-dryer following over the top. Once you reach the ends, curve them under. Repeat this step until the section is completely dry.

Sidesunder
5 . Blow-dry the Sides Under

To blow-dry the sides, take out a small section of hair from the front and clip the rest of the hair away. Next, place the brush under the section and then pull the brush and hair forward around your face (this curving motion creates body). Place the hair-dryer on top of the brush until you reach the ends and then turn the ends under. Repeat until dry.

Crown
6 . Blow-dry the Crown

To blow-dry the crown/top sections, take a section of hair no bigger than the diameter of the brush and blow-dry the hair placing the brush under the section of hair. With your blow-dryer in front of the brush, follow the brush in an upwards direction at the roots and an outwards position at the ends for volume and softness. Continue until the section is dry.

Sidesforwardleft
7 . Blow-dry Left Side Forward

Take a section of your hair from your ear to your temple the same diameter as the brush. Place your brush underneath the hair starting at the roots and pull the hair slowly in a forward and downward direction with your blow-dryer above. Be sure the section is dry and then repeat the step on a new section of hair directly above.

8 . Blow-dry Right Side Forward

Take a section of your hair from your ear to your temple that is the same diameter as the brush. Place your brush underneath the hair starting at the roots and pull the hair slowly in a forward and downward direction with your blow-dryer above. Be sure the section is dry and then repeat the step on a new section of hair directly above.

Tease
9 . Tease Hair

Pick up a small selection of hair from your mid section no bigger than your tail comb. Place your comb at the roots and then comb up and down until the hair is standing up by itself. Continue to the crown and finish at the sides. Repeat this step if you require more volume.

Halfuphalfdown
10 . Pin the Hair Half Up and Half Down

Take one section of hair from one side and secure it at the back of your head with a pin. Repeat on the other side to form this style.
