Asian hair is also very stubborn, so getting it to hold a shape can be difficult at times. Here, Jessica Lu show us how getting a layered haircut and lightening up the color slightly can create a whole new level of softness and shine. If you have been craving a new style, here’s how to get it:

The Cut

Jessica Lu hairstylesJessica’s naturally straight hair has been cut into a shoulder length bob with a side-swept fringe. Her hairstylist has added lots of layers throughout the lengths and ends to give it a rounded shape and contour to her oval face shape. Speaking of an oval face shape, Jessica has swept her bangs to the side but would also look fabulous with a full fringe that goes straight across her brow.

The Hair Color

Jessica has opted for a warm chestnut brown at the roots that gradually darkens down to a chocolate brown at the ends. This is a great ‘reverse’ take on the ombré hair color look that has been so popular lately. Plus, it’s more edgy that plain old highlights. Expect to see more ladies flaunting deep, dark ends like Jessica soon!
