Movie Review: Date Movie TheHairStyler.com Feature By Katie Summers, THS Entertainment Consultant Alyson Hannigan stars in this romantic comedy which makes fun of all other romantic comedies. Julia Jones (Hannigan) is an overweight waitress working in her family's restaurant who dreams of meeting a man who will sweep her off her feet. After seeking help from a dating doctor, who "pimps her out", Julia meets Hugh (Adam Campbell) on the set of a reality TV show and after one date decides to marry him. As with all romantic comedies though, the trip to the alter is hampered by disapproving parent’s, a sexy best friend, a crazy wedding planner and funny animal antics. Although on the short side, Date Movie offers a lot of spoofs and some genuinely funny moments. The opening sequence of a large Julia dancing through the streets trying to find a man, and a sequence where she can hear the thoughts of Britney Spears and Kevin Federline are real highlights, as is a scene where the cast sing a parody of "Say a Little Prayer". So, if you've seen enough romantic comedies to appreciate all the spoofs, jokes and set ups, Date Movie is definitely one to look out for.
