It seems Britney has decided
to lay low with the release of her latest, B in the Mix: The Remixes,
which is another "greatest hits" type package that is made up
of new and old dance remixes to her biggest hits and selected album tracks.
The album is being released without promotion from the label or even Ms
Spears herself, and the cover art doesn’t even have Britney
pictured on the front sleeve. This album is purely for the fans.
Stand out tracks include "Everytime
– Valentin Remix," "Breath on Me – Thin White Duke
Mix", and "Early Mornin'– Jason Nevins Remix".
The two new tracks featured on the album are "And then we kiss –
Junkie XL Remix" and the baby ballad "Someday (I Will Understand)
– Hi Bias Signature Radio Remix".
The album starts with an overly repetitive
version of Spears last hit, "Toxic - Peter Rauhofer Reconstruction
Mix (Edit)", but ends with the fantastic "Don’t Let
Me Be The Last To Know – Hex Hector Club Mix Edit" –
which takes an average ballad and turns it into a song worth taking a listen
to.
Although dance music fans may find
this album lacking, the tracks are remixed by some of the biggest hit makers
and will surely find a place in the collections of Britney fans and
anyone else that enjoys a good party record that they can dance to.
