Long straight updos need to be pinned, tied, teased, gelled, brushed smooth, and lacquered into place. Styling time varies depending on how much work is done, meaning it can be as little as 30 minutes up to 2 hours for intricate plaits and moulded buns etc.

One of the biggest benefits of long straight updos (on naturally straight hair) is that they hold together well and last quite a long time. The reason is because moisture or wind do not enter the hair and collapse the style or blow it free.
