Short Blonde Hairstyle With Defined Curls

Added: 16 Dec 2010
This short blonde hairstyle with curls is a stylish and modern look that is ideal to wear at a special event. The bangs are short with plenty of volume, and the curls give an extra pop of interest. Side-swept bangs add movement and will help create that effortless look. Our model looks beautiful with this hairstyle that is styled in multiple blonde tones. She adds some light blush, light blue eye shadow, and pink lips to finish this look. For the hair styling, these well-defined curls through the back and sides add height, texture, and shape to this golden mane. The bangs are smoothed over to one side for contrast and show how versatile short curly hair can be. A combination of copper and gold tones all over completes this style fabulously. This hairstyle is an excellent option for those who want to create an effortless, sexy look, or add a fun feminine element to their look. The layered locks frame the face and show off her features, making this look versatile enough for both formal and casual settings. This short hairstyle has curly tips and light blonde highlights, will suit all face shapes and is incredibly flattering on those with round or oval faces.

This dark caramel blonde hairstyle works on all skin tones and hair types. This hairstyle is a simple yet gorgeous look for about half the cost of more complicated styles. The side-swept bangs give this hairstyle a youthful edge, while the dark roots will take years off your age. The most striking feature of this hairstyle is the slightly crocheted twist at the back. You can apply the finishing products with help from your stylist. This hairstyle will last for approximately four to six weeks with regular trimming.

step 1

Apply styling mousse to damp hair, using your palm as a measuring guide, and evenly distribute it along the hair shaft. Styling mousse will add hold and can help achieve better results.

step 2

Using your blow-dryer, dry your hair using your fingers, separating the hair and allowing it to dry at the roots first then the mid lengths and then the ends. Making sure the roots are dry first will ensure that your hairstyle does not fall flat.

step 3

A medium curling iron is used to create medium sized curls.

step 4

Starting from the back, take a small section of hair and place the ends at the base of your curling iron barrel and then wrap the hair up around the barrel until you reach your roots. Hold the hair for 5 to 10 seconds and then release the hair by unwinding the strands backwards. Continue this step until the entire back section of your hair is completed.

step 5

Starting at the front, take a small section of hair and place the ends at the base of your curling iron barrel and then wrap the hair up around the barrel until you reach your roots. Hold the hair for 5 to 10 seconds and then release the hair by unwinding the strands backwards. Continue this step until all of the hair through your front and sides has been curled.

step 6

When blow-drying your bangs to the side, section your hair up and clip your hair back to leave only your bangs out. Remember to make sure that your bangs are damp to make blow-drying more effective. Next, take your brush and place it underneath the hair and then blow-dry starting from the roots, adding tension to the hair as you go. Slowly pull your section down to the ends and continue until dry.

step 7

Apply a small amount of wax to your fingertips and then lightly piece and pinch the ends of your hair.

step 8

Apply wax to your fingertips then drag through your bangs, sweeping the hair to the right as you go. Pinching the ends will create soft texture.

step 9

Apply a very small amount of smoothing shine to the palms of your hands and then run it through the mid-lengths and ends of your hair. Be careful not to add any to the roots or a large amount to any section of the hair as smoothing shine can be very heavy on the hair, weighing it down and making it appear oily.

step 10

To finish, apply a minimal amount of hairspray from an arms length distance to the top, sides and back. Take care not to use too much or you will end up with a white, flaky residue which looks like dandruff.
