Elizabeth Banks Formal Wavy Updo Hairstyle - Dark Blonde
Elizabeth Banks looks gorgeous here in a unique up-do that makes the most of her hair type and delicate facial features. Having a diamond face shape that is wider at the cheeks, Elizabeth looks best in styles that have a grown out fringe and ones that frame the eyes. This up-do does just that, with the fringe worn to show off the cheekbones and bulked up with some backcombing and curls. Elizabeth has styled the rest of her hair to the back for a chic finish to this funky ‘do. Ladies with fine hair will especially enjoy this hairstyle that adds maximum volume and body in a formal look.
Having a fair, warm complexion and blue eyes, Elizabeth looks best in warm caramel and golden shades of blonde. This medium honey tone is ideal for her complexion and makes her eyes pop even more. Subtle highlights throughout add dimension to her locks, while the darker root area gives her color a natural finish.

1 . Part to the Left
Using the corner of your comb and standing in front of a mirror find the middle of your left eye and then drag the comb straight up slowly until you reach your hairline and then continue back in a straight manner to achieve an even left part. A side part is great for longer face shapes because it creates the illusion of width.
2 . Use a Large Radial Brush
A large radial brush is usually used on long straight hair types or to smooth out wavy or curly hair textures. When selecting a radial brush, always use one with a pure bristle as this will not tear or damage the hair.
3 . Use a Blow-dryer and Fingers to Dry Your Hair Off
Using your blow-dryer, dry your hair using your fingers, separating the hair and allowing it to dry at the roots first then the mid lengths and then the ends. Making sure the roots are dry first will ensure that your hairstyle does not fall flat.
4 . Blow-dry Bangs Forward to the Right
When blow-drying your bangs to the side, section your hair up and clip your hair back to leave only your bangs out. Remember to make sure that your bangs are damp to make blow-drying more effective. Next, take your brush and place it underneath the hair and then blow-dry starting from the roots, adding tension to the hair as you go. Slowly pull your section down to the ends and continue until dry.
5 . Place Large Velcro Rollers in Hair
Take a section of hair no wider than the diameter of the velcro roller and comb it through to ensure there are no knots. Place the roller at the ends of the section of hair, being sure to smooth the ends under, and then twist the roller down the hair shaft to the roots. Continue applying the velcro rollers all the way through the entire hair for a full volume finish throughout the sides. Keep the rollers in your hair for approximately 20 minutes.
6 . Tease Hair
Pick up a small selection of hair from your mid section no bigger than your tail comb. Place your comb at the roots and then comb up and down until the hair is standing up by itself. Continue to the crown and finish at the sides. Repeat this step if you require more volume.
7 . Use a Large Curling Iron
A large curling iron is used to create large soft curls and can be used to add body.
8 . Use a Curling Iron on the Front and Sides
Starting at the front, take a small section of hair and place the ends at the base of your curling iron barrel and then wrap the hair up around the barrel until you reach your roots. Hold the hair for 5 to 10 seconds and then release the hair by unwinding the strands backwards. Continue this step until all of the hair through your front and sides has been curled.
9 . Pin Hair
Once your hairstyle is complete, hold your hair into place and then pin your hair into your desired direction.
10 . Apply Hairspray
To finish, apply a minimal amount of hairspray from an arms length distance to the top, sides and back. Take care not to use too much or you will end up with a white, flaky residue which looks like dandruff.
