Description

(Added: 9th August 2015 )
This red mane is blow-waved beautifully to give the over-all look plenty of body and volume making this a fantastic 'do to complement a long face. The bangs are swept across the forehead to soften the face and completes the whole look brilliantly. Product is needed to keep this hairstyle in place all day or night.

Julie Klausner flaunts a ravishing red ‘do here that is guaranteed to turn heads. This voluminous ‘do is ideal for her fine hair texture that needs an extra boost to avoid falling limp. The large curls and backcombing at the roots ensure that Julie’s hair has extra body throughout while giving the illusion of added thickness. Julie has an oval face shape with a strong chin area, which benefits from the soft layers and styling around the face. The side swept fringe creates a nice frame for her eyes and works well with her small forehead.

Julie has the ideal complexion for red hair, which is fair and cool. The rosy undertones of her skin are complimented by this hair color, plus it highlights her green eyes nicely. Highlights aren’t required with this rich red shade that looks best on its own.

Julie Klausner is a New York City-based author, podcaster, and comedy writer-performer.

Styling Steps

Mousse
1 . Apply Mousse

Apply styling mousse to damp hair, using your palm as a measuring guide, and evenly distribute it along the hair shaft. Styling mousse will add hold and can help achieve better results.

Brushlarge
2 . Use a Large Radial Brush

A large radial brush is usually used on long straight hair types or to smooth out wavy or curly hair textures. When selecting a radial brush, always use one with a pure bristle as this will not tear or damage the hair.

Backunder
3 . Blow-dry the Back Under

To blow-dry under, start at the nape/back and place your brush under the section of hair close to the nape. With the dryer held up over the hair, pull the brush from the roots and continue to the mid length's, keeping the blow-dryer following over the top. Once you reach the ends, curve them under. Repeat this step until the section is completely dry.

4 . Blow-dry Left Side Back

Take a section of your hair from your ear to your temple that is the same diameter as the brush. Place your brush on top of the hair starting at the roots and pull the hair slowly in a backward direction with your blow-dryer following in front. Be sure the section is dry and then repeat the step on a new section of hair directly behind.

5 . Blow-dry Right Side Back

Crown
6 . Blow-dry the Crown

To blow-dry the crown/top sections, take a section of hair no bigger than the diameter of the brush and blow-dry the hair placing the brush under the section of hair. With your blow-dryer in front of the brush, follow the brush in an upwards direction at the roots and an outwards position at the ends for volume and softness. Continue until the section is dry.

Bangsforwardleft
7 . Blow-dry Bangs Forward to the Left

To blow-dry your bangs to the side, clip the back and side sections up, leaving just your bangs out. Place your brush beneath your bangs, holding your hair to the side and remembering to hold the tension between your hair and brush. With your blow-dryer on a low setting, apply heat by starting at the roots and make sure to stretch your hair out to the ends. Repeat until your hair is dry.

Tease
8 . Tease Hair

Pick up a small selection of hair from your mid section no bigger than your tail comb. Place your comb at the roots and then comb up and down until the hair is standing up by itself. Continue to the crown and finish at the sides. Repeat this step if you require more volume.

Hairsprayfinishing
9 . Apply Hairspray

To finish, apply a minimal amount of hairspray from an arms length distance to the top, sides and back. Take care not to use too much or you will end up with a white, flaky residue which looks like dandruff.
